Commercial Construction Estimator – Concrete Restoration & Waterproofing

Remote | Florida-Based Projects

Position Summary

Group Landev is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator with strong expertise in concrete restoration, waterproofing, roofing, post-tension systems, and building-envelope projects, preferably with experience supporting projects in South Florida.

The Estimator will manage the estimating and bidding process from initial document review and quantity takeoff through proposal preparation, bid submission, negotiation, and project handoff.

This is a primarily remote position requiring strong technical estimating capabilities, commercial awareness, attention to detail, and excellent English communication skills to effectively collaborate with U.S.-based clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural and construction drawings, specifications, RFPs, project manuals, and other bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for concrete restoration, waterproofing, roofing, post-tension, and building-envelope projects.
• Develop professional proposals including labor, materials, subcontractor costs, equipment, overhead, profit margins, and contingencies.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to secure competitive pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with project managers, executives, sales, and operations teams throughout the estimating and bidding process.
• Participate in value engineering to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and contractual requirements.
• Support bid negotiations, clarifications, revisions, and contract handoff to the operations team.
• Track bid results and analyze win/loss data to continuously improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
• Maintain current knowledge of construction materials, market pricing, restoration methods, Florida building codes, and relevant industry practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 10+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably involving concrete restoration, waterproofing, commercial roofing, post-tension systems, or building-envelope projects.
• Demonstrated experience preparing estimates and bids for commercial construction projects ranging from approximately $100,000 to $20 million.
• Strong experience in concrete restoration and/or waterproofing estimating.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and construction documents.
• Strong knowledge of quantity takeoffs, labor costing, material pricing, subcontractor pricing, overhead, margins, and project contingencies.
• Proficiency with estimating and construction tools such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with JobPlanner or Procore is an advantage.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English is mandatory.
• Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with U.S.-based clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Florida building codes, OSHA requirements, and South Florida commercial construction practices is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining effective collaboration through Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and project-management platforms.
