About Us

At Cambridge Audio, we’re a different sort of global audio company, resolutely independent and always authentic.

We’re on a mission to break down barriers to top-tier sound, so it’s not the exception, but the norm. It’s what we’ve been doing for over 50 years, and we’re only just getting started.

Our award-winning product lineup includes headphones, lifestyle audio, and premium hi-fi. We also own StreamMagic, our own music streaming platform, plus a music venue and bar called Melomania at our London Bridge HQ.

Work at Cambridge Audio is more than just a job. We’re passionate about what we do, and have fun doing it, developing our skills and careers, plus those of the colleagues around us. Learn more at https://cambridgeaudio.com/about-us

Our Culture

A shared love for music and a commitment to exceptional products and customer experience drive us. With strong team spirit across our global offices, our core values define how we work:

Made By Music - Inspired by shared passion and independence.
Pride in our product and service - Obsess over detail, always learning and improving.
Embrace the culture - Integrity, Innovation, Energy, Openness, Teamwork, Diversity, Flexibility, Fun, Music.
Make an impact - See it through. Go the extra mile.

About the Role

Cambridge Audio sells across the UK, Europe, the US and Asia, through retailers, distributors, Amazon and our own website. Every product we launch depends on getting the plan right: what we buy, when we ship it, and the cash it ties up. This role sits at the centre of all of it.

You’ll own the commercial planning cycle end to end, from the sales forecast through to the purchase plan, the shipping plan and the cash it generates. You’ll challenge the assumptions, explain the variances, and give Sales, Operations and the Board the numbers they need to make better decisions.

It’s also a real chance to shape how we work. You’ll take an existing planning model and make it better, move our reporting into Power BI dashboards that refresh on their own, and use automation and AI progressively and sensibly to take the manual work out of the cycle. It suits someone who loves getting the detail right and is just as comfortable telling a senior colleague that a forecast doesn’t look credible. Above all, it suits someone who is never satisfied with how things are done today: someone who teaches themselves what they need, asks why, and then changes it. The role will evolve, and you’ll be the one driving it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the sales demand plan across all markets, working with the sales teams to build forecasts and challenging them where they do not stand up.
  • Run our Excel-based purchase and inventory planning model every two weeks and produce the purchase plan, working with our Hong Kong office, who place the orders.
  • Monitor stock, sell-through and shipments, raise shortages, overstock and end-of-line risks early.
  • Plan stock and delivery timelines for new product launches with Sales, Engineering and Operations.
  • Provide the commercial inputs to the weekly cashflow forecast, the annual budget and the September recast.
  • Own our commercial reporting in Power BI, reporting sales, margin and forecast accuracy to the Board each month and explaining what is driving the movements.
  • Use automation and AI to take manual work out of forecasting and reporting, checking everything they produce.
  • Act as the finance partner to Sales, Operations, Product and Marketing.

Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA finalist or newly qualified accountant, with experience in commercial finance or FP&A.
  • Experience building sales forecasts, demand plans or purchase plans in a business that holds stock.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling. You will take over an existing model, so you need to be comfortable reading, checking and improving other people's logic.
  • Hands-on Microsoft Power BI experience, including building reports and data models, and experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP.
  • Practical experience of using automation or AI tools to remove manual work from reporting or planning, with sound judgement about checking the output.
  • Comfortable working across several currencies, entities and markets.
  • Able to challenge constructively and communicate clearly with non-finance colleagues.
  • A track record of teaching yourself new tools and ways of working, especially AI, without waiting for formal training. We’ll ask you to show us what you learned and how you applied it.

Helpful: consumer electronics or similar sector experience, long supply chains from Asia, and experience of demand planning software.

Personal Profile

  • Commercially curious - you want to understand what’s driving the numbers, not just report them
  • Confident challenging assumptions, including with senior colleagues, while keeping the relationship strong
  • Precise and thorough, with a habit of checking your work, whatever tools helped produce it
  • Driven and self-motivated - you don’t wait to be asked, and you improve the systems and processes around you, for yourself and for everyone you work with
  • Takes ownership and sees things through, from the first forecast to the Board pack and when something goes wrong you own it and fix it fast
  • A clear communicator who can explain complex numbers simply to non-finance colleagues
  • Collaborative and open, comfortable working with teams across the UK and Hong Kong, and generous with what you know
  • A genuine interest in music, audio and great products
