Steadwell is a new kind of insurance agency. We pair experienced insurance people with AI tools that take the admin off their desk, so clients get fast, tailored service instead of a queue. We are opening in the US, and you would be one of our first employees: a real say in how we work, and a faster path to more responsibility than a large agency can offer.
You will manage a book of small to mid-market commercial accounts and help facilitate new business, with mentorship from our founder. The work is about half service and renewals, and half turning inbound new-business inquiries into clients. In your first year, success looks like a well-run book with renewals prepared early, and new clients you helped win.
What you will do
- Manage small to mid-market commercial P&C accounts from placement through renewal.
- Be the main contact for your clients: coverage questions, certificates, endorsements and claims support.
- Prepare renewals early: review exposures, remarket where it helps the client, and present options with clear advice.
- Turn inbound new-business inquiries into clients: gather information, build submissions, work with carriers and wholesalers, and present quotes.
- Support the principal on carrier relationships and appetite.
- Keep the agency management system clean and complete.
- Use AI tools to draft, summarize and process faster, and tell us what works and what does not.
- Help shape our service standards and workflows as we grow.
What you need
- An active Florida 2-20 general lines (property and casualty) agent license.
- At least 2 years in commercial lines account management or a similar commercial account service role.
- Experience servicing commercial P&C accounts through renewal.
- Hands-on use of an agency management system such as Applied Epic, AMS360 or EZLynx.
Nice to have
- Mid-market exposure, such as contractors, hospitality, real estate or professional services.
- Experience quoting and presenting new business, not only servicing renewals.
- A CIC, CISR or similar designation, or progress toward one.
- Clear, quick, professional writing, and a builder's curiosity about AI tools.
- Base pay of $55,000 to $70,000, based on experience.
- Health benefits and paid time off.
- A direct line to the founder, mentorship, and a voice in how the agency is built.
- A hybrid schedule: 2 days a week in our Tampa office, 3 remote.
- A real growth path. This is a key early hire, with a path to leading a team and moving up quickly as Steadwell grows.
