Commercial Litigation Attorney

Masuda Funai is seeking a California-licensed litigation associate with 3 to 5 years of commercial litigation experience for our Torrance, CA office. Summary As a Commercial Litigation Associate at Masuda Funai, you will be working with a talented team of litigators and paralegals assisting clients with civil court litigation of commercial and business-related disputes, as well as other dispute resolution proceedings, as required by the Practice Group. Essential Functions of a Litigation Associate Manage litigation and dispute-resolution matters for clients, including conducting regular communication with clients Prepare for, conduct and defend depositions throughout the United States without immediate supervision, including travel as required Prepare and sign pleadings, motions and other related litigation documents in accordance with Rule 11 obligations Argue contested, dispositive and discovery motions Conduct witness interviews and gather client materials Conduct research and draft appropriate legal memoranda Assist with trials, arbitrations and other evidentiary hearings as needed Respond to clients in a timely, forthright, and professional manner Coordinate and collaborate with litigation attorneys, legal assistants, and assigned staff, as well as provide reasonable support to colleagues Required Qualifications Active license to practice law in California 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm Juris Doctor from an accredited law school Federal and state court experience Superior verbal and written communication skills Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multi-task Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Able to work independently in a fast-paced work environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Benefits Associate Mentoring Program Hybrid, flexible schedule Generous PTO policy Remote work stipend for technology, home office and incidentals Premium medical, dental, and vision plans Flexible spending accounts for medical, dependent care, and commuter benefits Complimentary Identity Protection Coverage Generous 401(k) profit sharing plan and access to a personal financial advisor Optional Voluntary Life, Accident, Critical Illness, Short-term Disability, and Pet Insurance ​​ Compensation The salary range for this position is based upon various factors including the individual's experience, skills, and qualifications. An estimate of the salary range for individuals working a hybrid schedule in our Torrance office is: $150,000- $170,000.
