Remote Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney (Associate) Overview A small, sophisticated litigation team (six attorneys) is seeking a Remote Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney to join a confidential practice handling complex business disputes. This is an associate-level role suited to a seasoned commercial litigator who can independently manage matters, develop case strategy, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a fully remote environment. The ideal start date is immediately (targeting October 2026). Responsibilities Manage a docket of complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution. Develop and execute case strategy, including evaluation of claims/defenses, risk assessment, and settlement positioning. Lead motion practice, including drafting and arguing dispositive and non-dispositive motions. Conduct and manage discovery, including written discovery, document review/production strategy, and discovery motion practice. Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses for deposition and hearing testimony. Handle arbitration matters and related advocacy, including evidentiary hearings. Support trial preparation and courtroom advocacy; first-chair opportunities may be available based on experience. Negotiate with opposing counsel and advance matters efficiently toward favorable outcomes. Maintain exceptional client communication and relationship management, providing clear guidance and timely updates. Operate effectively in a remote setting using technology to collaborate, communicate, and manage matters. Qualifications Required Admission to the New York Bar. 8+ years of substantial commercial litigation experience, including significant experience handling complex business disputes. Strong background in motion practice, discovery, depositions, negotiation, and overall case strategy. Meaningful courtroom, arbitration, evidentiary hearing, and/or trial experience (first-chair trial experience strongly preferred). Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills. Strong judgment and ability to independently manage and advance sophisticated matters. Exceptional client communication and relationship-management skills. Highly organized, responsive, and accountable. Comfort with legal technology and remote collaboration tools; ability to thrive remotely through proactive communication and consistent follow-through. Highly Desirable / Preferred Experience with partnership, shareholder, ownership, fiduciary duty, or business divorce disputes. Trial law experience. Admission in New Jersey and/or Florida. Billable Expectations Target billable hours: 1,680. Compensation Base salary: $175,000–$225,000. Additional compensation: Quarterly performance bonus based on paid billable hours in excess of the minimum billable requirement (annual bonus range $15,000–$60,000; schedule available upon request).
