About the Role
A middle-market law practice is seeking a commercial litigator to manage complex matters independently from inception through resolution. You will support a growing litigation practice and work on a broad range of business and construction-related disputes.
What You'll Do
Manage commercial litigation matters from initial filing through resolution, including trials and arbitrations.
Handle disputes involving contracts, warranties, mechanic's liens, bonds, and business torts.
Develop and execute litigation strategies in state and federal courts.
Draft pleadings, substantive motions, briefs, and other legal documents, and argue motions as needed.
Lead written discovery and take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts.
Prepare for and participate in mediations, settlement conferences, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
Build client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
What We're Looking For
Six to ten years of commercial litigation experience, including independent management of complex matters from start to finish.
Admission to the Colorado bar, or admission expected within approximately one month.
Trial or arbitration experience and a strong ability to discuss case results in concrete detail.
Experience with breach of contract and business tort matters, as well as taking and defending depositions.
Experience in Colorado state and federal courts is valuable.
Construction or defects litigation experience, including mechanic's lien or bond claims, is a plus.
Graduation from an accredited U.S. law school and a law school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
A stable employment history and an entrepreneurial approach are preferred; portable client relationships are welcome but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $250,000 to $300,000 annually, with merit-based pay. The role has a 1,900-hour billable target, with additional hours bonuses available in 25-hour increments through 2,300 hours and a 10% fee origination credit on qualifying collected fees.
