What you will do
  • Lead development appraisals, cost planning and estimating across residential development and fire safety remediation projects, ranging from approximately £5m to £100m+.
  • Provide senior commercial and cost consultancy advice throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-contract development and feasibility through to post-contract delivery and agreement of final accounts.

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including Fire Engineers, Project Managers, Employer’s Agents and Design Managers, to maximise client opportunities and deliver integrated project solutions.
  • Advise on procurement, value management and value engineering, including innovative procurement routes, PCSA arrangements and joint venture management, particularly within the residential sector.
  • Build and strengthen client relationships and business opportunities, providing confident commercial leadership and helping to grow the Cost Consultancy service and wider client base.
Who you are
  • Be a Chartered or equivalent Cost Consultant with significant commercial cost consultancy experience, ideally within residential development, high-rise and/or fire safety remediation.
  • Have strong residential cost planning and development appraisal experience, with an understanding of project modelling, financial viability and the commercial drivers behind major developments.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a Cost Consultancy team while supporting junior colleagues and promoting high standards of delivery.
  • Have strong knowledge of procurement and construction contracts, including experience with procurement strategies, PCSA, joint ventures, value management and value engineering.
  • Excellent commercial and client-facing skills, with the confidence to manage project finances, communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders, and identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Strong technical and analytical capability, including detailed knowledge of NRM, programme management and cost management software such as CostX or similar, alongside excellent problem solving and lateral thinking skills.
