Department

Our partner is a market-leading multinational retail network operating within the fast-paced FMCG sector. The position is based within the central commercial planning hub—the Specials Programme Planning & Performance team. Working in daily alignment with US supervisors and international partners, this role coordinates planning inputs, line counts, and operational data across diverse non-food special buy and seasonal categories, taking end-to-end analytical ownership of programme health and strategic execution.

Job description

  • End-to-End Programme Overview: Maintain a coordinated, holistic view of the Specials programme, aligning commercial targets, themes, OSDs, and financial goals.
  • In-Depth Performance & Financial Analysis: Analyze sell-through rates, stock turn, inventory KPIs, and promotional performance to highlight trends, risks, and commercial opportunities.
  • Exception & Change Management: Evaluate and steer proposed programme modifications (schedule shifts, item additions, cancellations) against master plans and business impact.
  • Actionable Recommendations: Go beyond highlighting deviations by formulating data-backed action plans, mitigation strategies, and optimization proposals for management.
  • Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management: Drive transparent communication and alignment across Buying, Grocery, Supply Chain, International Specials, Key Events, and executive leadership.
  • Process & Tool Improvement: Partner with external data teams and internal BI units to refine reporting tools and streamline data ingestion workflows

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5+ years of relevant experience in retail commercial planning, merchandise planning, category management, or retail buying with a strong analytical focus.
  • Analytical Background: Solid grasp of commercial and financial retail metrics (sell-through, gross margin, OSDs, inventory valuation, and stock cover).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Advanced MS Excel mastery (data manipulation, advanced modeling, multi-layered lookups, Pivot Tables).
  • Working knowledge or hands-on experience with BI and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI) is considered a strong plus.

Soft Skills & Ownership:

  • Proactive problem-solver with high autonomy and commercial acumen.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder-management skills across diverse departments and levels of leadership.
  • Ability to prioritize under tight deadlines and balance strategic goals with operational changes.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English (essential for regular stakeholder presentations and senior alignment).
  • Flexibility: Ability to work standard afternoon/evening hours (13:00 – 21:00).

What we Offer

  • Competitive base salary corresponding.
  • Comprehensive cafeteria and employee health/wellbeing benefits package.
  • Hybrid work arrangement with modern office infrastructure.
  • High-visibility position with significant ownership over core retail programmes.
  • Diverse opportunities for professional development and international career advancement within a global retail leader.
