Job Description:

Summary

The National Product Manager, Trailer Storage Solutions, manages the trailer storage product line strategy, pricing, and operating metric performance for rental, surplus, and Coop assets within FMS. This position will report directly to the Senior Sales Manager and support their assigned product line. This position is responsible for ensuring that the storage application of the trailer fleet is productive and profitable. The National Product Manager, Trailer Storage Solutions, would not only be responsible for collaborating with the Directors in the Region but also the Rental Account Managers and Rental Managers that have in the field oversight of the customers and equipment at their branches. This position will manage to the assigned profitability metrics and represent Ryder at internal and external meetings as requested by senior management. He/she will be responsible for implementing the strategic direction of the product, including information technology, process changes and labor planning. This position is also responsible for ensuring the customer's needs are being met while balancing financial, operating, quality, and safety targets against the requirements of the business measured through leadership competencies and business metrics. The National Product Manager, Trailer Storage Solutions, works in tandem with the sales and marketing organizations to profitably grow market share in trailer sales, specifically for storage use, across the nation.


Essential Functions
  • Operations Management: Achieve all profitability goals set by Ryder by working closely with assigned Region staff. Ensure regular communication with our leaders and facilitate needed resources to meet objectives.
  • Asset Management: Supports the team to ensure the appearance and maintenance of the trailer fleet. Works with regional DORs, RMs, and AMBP’s for Inventory management, policies and procedures Coordinate company inventory and assets to get the best utilization and return on investment of assets
  • Customer Management: Ensure delivery of promised services to maximize satisfaction for our customers. Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting maintenance and rental promises.
  • Quality Management: Responsible for ensuring Quality Inspections of PM & repairs ensure implementation of Quality Assurance Audit Corrective Action plans and Continuous Improvement programs Oversight of all relevant documentation required to meet and/or exceed local, state, federal, as well as customer requirements Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace and providing guidance for all safety efforts and initiatives Comply with Safety, State, and EPA regulations and requirements.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to professionally represent Ryder and competently interact with customer management required, Required
  • Capacity to understand labor, financial, operating, quality, safety and asset processes and related metrics, Required
  • Strong sense of personal accountability and a proven track record of achieving desired results, Required
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, externally with customers and across all levels within the organization, Required
  • Competent in basic computer skills and in a Microsoft Office environment, Required
  • Ability to influence without authority across the organization, Required
  • Ability to work with reporting systems to pull data for analysis and decision making, Preferred

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in BBA, Business, Operations, Engineering, Required
  • 3 years or more in in Labor Planning or Process Engineering, Preferred
  • 3 years or more in in Product Management, Transportation Operations management, role with solution focus. Experience in strategic development, financial analysis, and operating metric performance management, Required
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of diesel trucking industry. Intermediate, Preferred
  • Must be able to understand financial statements and operating metrics Intermediate, Required

Compensation Information:

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type:

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

$70,000

Maximum Pay Range:

$75,000
