Job Summary

The Communications Specialist provides content development, project coordination, and tactical execution across CSS Communications, with a primary focus on in-market communications and managed communications services for CSS customers and regional programs. Working closely with the PR & Communications Manager and Corporate Communications team, the Specialist translates complex healthcare initiatives into clear, compelling communications that help providers and stakeholders understand and adopt products, services, and programs that improve access to information, strengthen care coordination, and support better patient outcomes.


This hands-on role develops and executes customer, stakeholder, product, educational, and engagement communications tailored to assigned verticals while also supporting corporate, executive, and organizational priorities as needed. The Specialist helps manage communications projects from planning through delivery, coordinating timelines, deliverables, reviews, and approvals to keep work organized and on track. This role is ideal for a strong writer and proactive, detail-oriented communicator who wants to make a meaningful impact across the healthcare system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports day-to-day execution of communications strategies, plans, and deliverables across assigned markets, customers, and corporate initiatives.
  • Owns drafting, editing, and distributing communications including emails, newsletters, announcements, presentations, product and service materials, educational content, and other collateral.
  • Adapts corporate and product communications for local audiences, programs, requirements, and channels.
  • Supports communications for product launches, releases, migrations, operational changes, new capabilities, and other corporate and customer-facing initiatives.
  • Supports recurring engagement programs, including newsletters, webinars, campaigns, meetings, trainings, and other educational initiatives.
  • Coordinates communications timelines, reviews, approvals, distribution, and follow-up to ensure accurate and timely execution.
  • Supports digital and web content and maintains communications channels and resources as assigned.
  • Maintains editorial calendars, distribution lists, communications materials, templates, and other tools supporting corporate and managed communications activities.
  • Tracks communications activities, deliverables, engagement, and performance metrics to support reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Ensures communications align with CSS brand, messaging, standards, and broader corporate strategy.
  • Provides additional support for corporate, executive, PR, and Communications team priorities as needed.

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to develop clear communications for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to understand and communicate healthcare, technology, product, and operational information accurately and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple communications, deadlines, stakeholders, and review processes.
  • Experience supporting customer, external, product, or program communications across channels such as email, newsletters, presentations, webinars, websites, and collateral.
  • Strong attention to detail, judgment, and ability to adapt messaging and materials for different audiences and markets.
  • Proactive and collaborative work style with the ability to work effectively across communications, customer, program, product, and technical teams.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity, shifting priorities, and evolving processes within a growing team.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms, content management systems, project management tools, shared content repositories, and analytics or reporting tools.

Experience and/or Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant communications, marketing, public relations, or related experience.
  • Experience supporting customer, program, product, or external communications in a complex organization.
  • Experience in healthcare, health technology, technology, government, or another regulated industry preferred.
