We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Specialist to provide expert strategic support for agency-wide communications, leading the execution of multimedia strategies and cross-platform visual consistency. This role serves as a senior advisor for digital engagement and complex content development. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform strategic planning and execution; provide expert advice to leadership on sensitive social media and communications issues.
Design and produce high-quality multimedia products (graphics, videos, data visualizations); maintain a visual information strategy plan.
Provide expert-level technical and scientific writing and editing; manage content through multiple review cycles to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, education, environmental studies, marine affairs, marine biology or related.
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in high-level communications strategy and multimedia design within a NOAA mission-driven environment/contract.
Expertise in visual information strategy, social media innovation, and the ability to translate technical scientific data into accessible public products.
Ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and external stakeholders with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.
Capacity to manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced "quick response" environment.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support events and related logistics.
