Position Overview

The Community Collaboration Advisor is an individual contributor role on the Community and Tribal Collaboration team at HealthierHere. This role is responsible for development and implementation of community engagement, relationship development and collaboration strategies in alignment with HealthierHere’s vision and goals.

This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is accountable for shaping how HealthierHere engages with community-based organizations, Tribal Nations, and individuals with lived experience. The Community Collaboration Advisor plays a key role in driving community cocreation practices, fostering cross-partner relationships, and ensuring meaningful, sustained engagement across the organization.

This role requires strong facilitation, relationship-building, and systems thinking skills, and will influence cross-functional priorities and external partnership approaches. This position partners closely with internal teams to ensure alignment between engagement strategies and program implementation. This role reports to the Director of Community and Tribal Collaboration.

This role is critical to the success of HealthierHere, ensuring sustained and meaningful engagement, implementation of cocreation practices, and partner growth in alignment with organizational goals and MTP 2.0 priorities. This role will lead with equity and be committed to creating forward progress in transforming the health of King County, with an emphasis on those experiencing the greatest disparities.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement, Cocreation and Strategy

  • Implement community engagement strategies including those that center people with lived experience.
  • Lead community engagement workgroups, convenings, and cocreation activities in alignment with organizational priorities
  • Use data and partner feedback to continuously improve engagement approaches, strengthen partner participation and identify emerging community needs
  • Foster cross-partner collaboration, opportunities for shared learning and relationship-building
  • Develop tools and processes to identify community creation opportunities, and implementation structures
  • Represent HealthierHere in external coalitions, convenings, and community spaces

Internal Collaboration and Operations

  • Partner cross-functionally to align engagement strategies with organizational priorities and program implementation
  • Conduct or support ongoing evaluation, continuous quality improvement and participant assessments to improve effectiveness and generate organizational learnings
  • Contribute insights from partners and community to inform internal decision-making
  • Inform, develop and facilitate, as appropriate, presentations at external convenings and conferences on behalf of HealthierHere

Focused Outreach and Relationship Development

  • Build and manage relationships with community-based organizations, Tribal partners, and other stakeholders
  • Lead focused outreach and initial engagement efforts with interested organizations
  • Establish and maintain relationship management tracking tools
  • Establish and maintain a robust engagement pipeline including identifying and addressing gaps in partner representation
  • Identify and integrate partner feedback to strengthen strategy, implementation, and organizational efforts

Tribal Engagement

  • Support relationship-building and collaboration with Tribal Nations and Native-led organizations
  • Help ensure engagement approaches reflect organizational commitments to Tribal partnership and equity

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in community engagement, public health, or social services, with a focus on health equity and cross-sector collaboration
  • Experience working in communities actively addressing health disparities
  • Experience building and managing partnerships with community-based organizations
  • Experience designing and facilitating community engagement activities, workgroups, or events
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, develop new tools and processes and drive work forward independently
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to address challenges proactively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating equitable, community-centered engagement spaces, including working with historically underserved communities
  • Experience working in matrixed or cross-functional environments
  • Familiarity with the King County community health and social services landscape
  • Experience using data and insights to inform engagement strategies and decision-making
