About Melanin Money
At Melanin Money, we're on a mission to help individuals, entrepreneurs, and business owners build wealth, achieve financial freedom, and create lasting legacies for their families.
Through financial education, coaching, memberships, and transformational experiences, we're building more than a financial education platform. We're building a community where people feel empowered, supported, and inspired to take meaningful steps toward generational wealth.
We're looking for a Member Engagement Manager who is passionate about connecting people, building relationships, and creating experiences that keep our members engaged and excited to be part of the Melanin Money community.
About the Role
As our Member Engagement Manager, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining a vibrant, welcoming, and highly engaged online membership community.
You'll oversee the day-to-day member experience across our community platforms, develop engagement strategies, facilitate meaningful connections, and create opportunities for members to celebrate milestones and learn from one another.
This role combines relationship building, content planning, community programming, and data-driven engagement strategies.
You'll also work closely with our Client Experience, Marketing, and Financial Advisory teams to ensure members feel supported throughout their journey with Melanin Money.
This is not a traditional social media management position. Your focus will be on engaging existing community members, strengthening relationships, and supporting long-term membership retention.
What You'll Do
Member Engagement & Community Experience
- Manage daily engagement across our online membership communities, including welcoming new members, responding to questions, and facilitating discussions.
- Build meaningful relationships with members and foster an inclusive, supportive community environment.
- Develop creative strategies to increase member participation, interaction, and overall satisfaction.
- Monitor community conversations, uphold community guidelines, and ensure a positive member experience.
- Identify opportunities to reconnect with inactive or disengaged members.
Community Content & Programming
- Develop and maintain a community engagement calendar featuring discussion topics, educational resources, member spotlights, and interactive activities.
- Create engaging written content that encourages participation and supports members throughout their financial journeys.
- Coordinate virtual community experiences, including live discussions, Q&A sessions, challenges, and member events.
- Develop recognition initiatives that celebrate member accomplishments and encourage continued participation.
- Manage community rewards, milestones, and gamification initiatives.
Member Relationships & Retention
- Help members navigate different membership programs and understand available resources and opportunities.
- Identify engagement trends and opportunities to improve the overall membership experience.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address member concerns and support retention initiatives.
- Encourage peer-to-peer connections, networking, and accountability among members.
- Identify and share member success stories, testimonials, and feedback.
Events & Community Experiences
- Support planning and execution of virtual and in-person community events.
- Coordinate regional member meetups and opportunities for members to connect.
- Help create memorable member experiences during Melanin Money events, retreats, and community activations.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor community engagement metrics, participation trends, and member feedback.
- Prepare monthly reports highlighting community activity, member insights, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend and implement initiatives designed to strengthen engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the member experience.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in community management, membership engagement, customer engagement, or a related role.
- Experience managing online communities, membership programs, or digital engagement platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a genuine enthusiasm for connecting with people.
- Experience planning engagement activities, virtual events, or community programming.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
- Ability to interpret engagement metrics and use data to improve the member experience.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to travel approximately 3–5 times per year and occasionally support evening events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Circle or similar online community platforms.
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Canva, ClickUp, or comparable tools.
- Experience working with paid membership programs, coaching communities, or educational platforms.
- Experience supporting membership retention or re-engagement initiatives.
- Interest in financial education, wealth building, and personal development.
Who Will Thrive Here
You'll enjoy this role if you're someone who genuinely loves bringing people together and creating spaces where others feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
You're equally comfortable starting conversations, organizing engagement initiatives, and reviewing data to understand what's working.
You're proactive, creative, organized, and understand that successful communities require more than activity. They require meaningful relationships, consistency, and intentional experiences.
Most importantly, you believe in the power of community to help people achieve transformational outcomes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary of $60,000–$70,000
- Performance-based bonus opportunities
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Life insurance
- 401(k)
- Flexible paid time off
- Generous holiday allowance
- Professional development allowance
- Fully remote work environment
