Our client is seeking a Compensation Consultant to support clients in designing and implementing effective compensation strategies that attract, retain, and motivate talent.

This position offers the opportunity to work directly with senior leaders and HR executives on compensation-related initiatives including pay strategy, market competitiveness, job architecture, incentive program design, and compensation governance. The role combines consulting, analytics, client relationship management, and strategic problem-solving.

The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects, translating complex compensation data into actionable recommendations, and partnering with organizations to improve workforce effectiveness.

Locations: Washington, DC or Philadelphia, PA

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop job architecture frameworks and compensation models.
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships and project deliverables.
  • Mentor and support junior consultants and project contributors.
  • Conduct market pricing and compensation benchmarking analyses.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior business and HR leaders.
  • Partner with project teams to perform analyses and develop client solutions.
  • Analyze workforce and compensation data to develop practical recommendations.
  • Design and evaluate compensation strategies, salary structures, and pay programs.
  • Lead and support compensation consulting engagements for clients across various industries.
  • Provide guidance on compensation, governance, regulatory considerations, and market trends.
  • Assist with business development initiatives, client expansion opportunities, and proposal support.
  • Utilize technology and data-driven tools to enhance compensation strategy and consulting outcomes.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience advising senior leaders on compensation-related matters.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation design, salary structures, job architecture, and market pricing methodologies.
  • 5+ years of compensation consulting, compensation strategy, total rewards, or closely related HR advisory experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Business development or client growth experience.
  • Experience designing incentive compensation programs.
  • Experience supporting large enterprises or global organizations.
  • Professional compensation certifications such as CCP are a plus.
  • Consulting experience supporting multiple clients or business units.
  • Exposure to compensation technology platforms and survey tools.
  • Familiarity with compensation, governance and regulatory considerations.
