Our client is seeking a Principal Compensation Consultant to join its growing workforce and rewards advisory practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned compensation professional who enjoys solving complex pay and workforce challenges, advising senior leaders, and leading large-scale client engagements.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to organizations on compensation strategy, job architecture, market competitiveness, incentive design, and total rewards effectiveness. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse clients, lead project teams, and contribute to business growth initiatives.

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite/client-facing)
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Mentor and coach junior consultants and project team members.
- Develop job architecture and compensation framework solutions.
- Conduct market pricing and compensation competitiveness analyses.
- Interpret compensation data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Lead compensation consulting engagements from strategy through implementation.
- Leverage technology, analytics, and data-driven insights to improve compensation outcomes.
- Design and evaluate compensation philosophies, salary structures, and incentive programs.
- Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Support business development activities, client expansion efforts, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Advise executives and HR leadership on compensation-related decisions and workforce strategies.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience advising senior executives and HR leadership teams.
- Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder client engagements.
- Knowledge of compensation governance, regulations, and market practices.
- Advanced communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of compensation consulting or closely related total rewards consulting experience.
- Strong expertise in compensation strategy, market analysis, pay structure design, and incentive plan development.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting large enterprises or global organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and mentor consultants.
- Exposure to compensation technologies, survey tools, and data analytics platforms.
- Experience contributing to business development, client growth, or practice expansion initiatives.
- Prior consulting experience within compensation, total rewards, or human capital advisory services.
