Complex Deal Manager – Commercial Card (Vice President)

Position Summary This role owns the contracting and credit onboarding process for new and existing Commercial Card clients, from mandate to booking. It's the main point of contact for clients and internal partners on agreement negotiation, credit facility setup and renewal, and contract changes after booking. The goal is to shorten time to revenue and make the handoff into implementation smooth.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for clients on Commercial Card Agreement negotiation and execution, including data processing agreements (DPAs) and other client-required addenda
  • Run a kick-off meeting with the Treasury Relationship Manager (TRM), Relationship Manager (RM), credit partners (PMG/CDA), Implementation and Supplier Enablement once a deal is mandated
  • Explain the Bank's position on requested contract changes. Gather and coordinate responses from TB Legal, Product, Credit, Risk and the RM, and set up meetings between MUFG Legal and the client's counsel when needed
  • Manage redlines, version control and approvals. Escalate non-standard terms to Deal Review or Deal Screening, with supporting documents, as policy requires
  • Prepare credit and booking packages, including GCARS approvals and deal screening sheets, and make sure Middle Office books card facilities and loans correctly in OVS
  • Track all card facility renewals, extensions and reductions so card exposure matches the approved facility. This avoids funding and reconciliation breaks
  • Partner with Card Relationship Managers and Client Service on changes to existing clients: line increases, adding or removing affiliates and participants, Program Administrator and signer updates, and contract amendments
  • Route agreements and schedules for execution and follow-up as needed to complete
  • Hand off executed agreements and client requirements to Card Implementation for a smooth transition
  • Maintain the Commercial Card Agreement templates and lead process improvements, including cycle-time benchmarks, portfolio reporting and procedure updates
  • Own and carry out assigned RCSA controls. Follow all regulatory, credit policy and bank procedures
  • Spot issues and risks early, escalate when needed, and help resolve them

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years in Treasury Management, Commercial Card, commercial lending or loan documentation at a major financial institution
  • Experience negotiating commercial contracts and working with in-house and client legal counsel
  • Working knowledge of credit approval and booking processes (GCARS, OVS or similar) and bank credit policy
  • Familiarity with card program structures, including participants, Program Administrators, and settlement processes is preferred
  • Experience documenting workflows and procedures, including detailed cross-functional flows
  • Strong organization and time management, with the ability to manage many deals at once against deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain the Bank's position clearly to clients and senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working across Legal, Credit, Middle Office, Operations, Product and Sales
  • Knowledge of internal controls, risk assessments and risk management
  • Proficient in DocuSign, Excel and Salesforce. Power BI and Copilot are a plus

The typical base pay range for this role is between $138k-$161k depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. Additionally, our Total Rewards program provides colleagues with a competitive benefits package (in accordance with the eligibility requirements and respective terms of each) that includes comprehensive health and wellness benefits, retirement plans, educational assistance and training programs, income replacement for qualified employees with disabilities, paid maternity and parental bonding leave, and paid vacation, sick days, and holidays.
