The Compliance Coordinator will be primarily responsible for data entry of background check results for volunteers within Girl Scouts of Northern California. This position will also help with customer care, volunteer support, and membership recruitment and retention efforts of the Membership Team.

- Updates background checks to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Maintains thorough background check records as required by established policies, procedures and standards
- Helps and supports staff concerning the background check process while following disclosure policies and procedures
- Always ensures confidential environment in compliance with GSNorCal, state, and federal regulations
- Maintains database with records of various state, federal agencies and vendors in support of the background check process
- Performs data entry within Salesforce
- Provides administrative support
- Ensure world-class customer service by answering questions for members via phone and email
Work schedule and/or office expectations:
- This is a temporary position with an expected end date of March 31, 2027
- This is a full-time hourly position with a minimum expected workweek of 37.5 hours
- Able to work additional hours beyond standard workweek, including evenings and weekends, as needed
- Hybrid, required to work in the San Jose office at least two days per week
Requirements:
- Valid California driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
- Must have access to personal transportation for business travel. Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Able to pass GSNorCal’s background screening process (including criminal, education, social security and Department of Motor Vehicle verification.
Desired Qualifications:
- One to two years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of Girl Scout mission, standards, systems, and programs
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in the most current versions of Windows and Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and ability to learn new databases and online tools quickly
- High attention to detail. Strong planning, organizing and review skills.
- Experience effectively managing customer service-related questions, concerns and conflicts
- Ability to work from home, as needed, to include high speed home internet access, accessibility to a non-distracting and uninterrupted space with adequate lighting and ergonomically adequate workspace
- Bilingual/bicultural skills and experience, particularly Spanish language
