Compliance Engineer

Experience: 5–10 years in compliance, with consumer products experience as a minimum and consumer electronics preferred

Location: Belgium or the Netherlands

We built Loop by going all in from day one. You’ll own the higher-level compliance picture across our full product portfolio, including product security and digital compliance. You’ll turn complex requirements into clear risks, actions and recommendations for the business. All yours. If you've mastered product compliance and you're ready to break the rules that no longer work, this is where you do it.

The role

You step into ownership. You move fast and take responsibility for what you build. You focus on work that matters, not on noise that slows things down. As Compliance Engineer, you’ll create clarity on where Loop stands today, identify gaps and risks, anticipate what is coming next, and connect compliance needs across Legal, IT, program and product teams.

This is a specialist, cross-functional role rather than a quality resource embedded in individual projects. The current scope is expected to require approximately 2–3 days per week and is intended as a freelance/contract engagement of at least six months.

What you’ll do (and what you won’t)

  • You make compliance gaps, risks, and required actions visible and understood

  • You identify upcoming regulations early and size their potential impact on Loop

  • You ensure new products have clear, reviewable compliance plans

  • You inform global expansion plans for existing products with the relevant compliance requirements and risks

  • You give Legal, IT, and program teams clear, actionable compliance advice

  • You make sure compliance decisions are taken with a clear understanding of the risks and trade-offs

  • You bring compliance in early enough to shape decisions, so it never becomes a late-stage issue

You won’t

  • Become the general quality resource for individual projects

  • Hide behind process when a clear recommendation or decision is needed

  • Pass accountability for compliance clarity to other teams

  • Talk about AI without practicing it in your workflow

How you’ll succeed

We look for people who think big, stay curious, and aren’t afraid to go all in to make things happen. You’ll succeed by giving Loop a clear and current view of its compliance position, surfacing gaps and risks early, and helping teams make informed decisions before compliance becomes a late-stage blocker.

You’ll use AI intentionally to strengthen regulatory monitoring, work through potential implications and improve the quality and clarity of your recommendations. You’ll know where AI adds value and where compliance judgment needs to lead. You’ll critically validate AI-assisted outputs, catch errors or limitations, and remain accountable for the final recommendation.

What you’ll bring

  • You bring 5–10 years of experience in the compliance domain

  • You have consumer products experience as a minimum, with consumer electronics experience preferred

  • You can understand and interpret regulations and translate them into clear business implications, risks and actions

  • You’re comfortable working across Legal, IT, program and product teams and influencing stakeholders without relying on formal authority

  • You work independently and know when to involve others

  • You’re comfortable with change, ambiguity and requirements that continue to evolve

  • You can distinguish between compliance requirements, risks, trade-offs and decisions that need stakeholder ownership

  • You use AI regularly and intentionally to improve the quality of your work, build repeatable approaches where relevant, and critically evaluate outputs before acting on them. You retain ownership of anything AI helps you produce

Loop isn’t for everyone. We might not be a match if you:

  • Wait for direction instead of taking initiative

  • Mistake activity for impact

  • Feel uneasy when things are still taking shape

  • Prefer alignment meetings over decisions

Interview Process

  • Application Window: 8 October- 1 November

  • Phone Screens (Recruiter & Hiring Manager): 2 November- 13 November

  • Business Interview: 16 November- 30 November

  • Target Offer By Date: 30 November

  • Target Start Date: 7 January

The Fine Print

  • We review all applications. There is no need to send an additional email.

  • We don’t require a cover letter, but do ask you to fill in the application questionnaire honestly and thoroughly.

  • We are not accepting candidates from agencies at this point in time; we work directly with candidates.

  • We are continually exploring the best ways to hire and build Loop, this includes the use of A.I. and testing. If you need any accommodation in these regards, please write to our recruitment team directly.

Still listening?

Good. We are not looking for people to watch from the sidelines. Loopers step in, speak up and go for more. More firsts. More growth. More: “I can’t believe we did that.” If you are like that too, press that beautiful apply button and let’s talk.
