Job Description

The Compliance and Legal Counsel will be responsible for all operational elements of Sandoz Nordics’s Compliance program including implementing Global initiatives, policies and requirements and ensuring compliance with relevant local external requirements.


In addition, The Compliance and Legal Counsel will work closely with the Head Legal & Compliance Nordics to define and drive a Compliance strategy for the unit that is aligned with the local business strategy and the priorities of the Legal & Compliance function. The Compliance and Legal Counsel will manage operational legal work as well as reporting and support the Head Legal & Compliance in driving Legal excellence.


Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead, in collaboration with Head L&C and local Leadership team, compliance and risk management processes to drive business priorities while protecting the company and best serving our customers and patients.
  • Provide guidance on and ensure compliance with Sandoz Nordics Commercial plans.
  • Pro-actively drive audit-readiness, audit coordination and any necessary remediation activities
  • Advise, influence and guide business decisions and actions to be consistent with external requirements and our requirements and principles.
  • Drive simplification and clarification of Sandoz Nordics policies and processes.
  • Actively engage externally and with Sandoz Northen Cluster / Regional Compliance to shape and influence the external environment to drive patient access and strengthen the external compliance environment.
  • Ensure the development of a compliance culture through awareness activities, trainings, and monitoring.
  • Develop, refine, and adapt the compliance program to meet evolving requirements and promote consistently high standards and operational excellence
  • Support Global processes and policies
  • Consistently explore opportunities to improve and strengthen the culture of compliance, looking for ways of addressing risks in an efficient and agile manner.
  • Support investigations conducted by Authorities, Corporate Security and Whiste-blower function, as required.
  • Provide guidance to the business, as well as manage compliance with legal requirements.
  • Ensure update and maintenance of L&C Sharepoint and contract templates for interactions with Health Care Professionals and Health Care Organisations
  • Support Head Legal and Compliance in managing legal matters as may be required from time to time
  • Represent the Head Legal & Compliance in compliance meetings
  • Manage Contract Applications and legal reporting (e.g. Legal Matters update)

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Requirements:

  • Law School or Business Law School graduate or other relevant compliance background
  • Fluency in English and Danish essential
  • Minimum 3-4 years post qualification experience required: ideally gained within a healthcare / pharmaceutical environment, working with compliance or with a top-tier law firm representing healthcare & technology clients
  • Experience in managing Legal and/or Compliance work and projects

  • Ability to analyse complex compliance issues
  • Strategic mindset, good judgment at a complex organizational level, and proactive and dynamic style that fosters informed decision making, particularly on challenging, complex and difficult issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and activities independently and in a calm, resilient and professional manner, and able to manage ethical and investigative matters with discretion and the utmost care of the individuals and organization involved
  • Project Management
  • Effective communication/presentation skills (Danish/English) with all management levels. Ability to lead meetings
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills; together with a high ability to influence and negotiate
  • Proven ability to deal positively when working within tight time pressures & demanding clients
  • Financial/business acumen and business partnering skills
  • Demonstrate professional & culturally sensitive work ethics
  • Change agility
