Compliance Manager

Location: Hybrid - Cyprus
Reporting to Chief Legal Officer

The Purpose

• Own client and partner onboarding: conduct KYB and due diligence on complex corporate structures, UBOs, and governance/control frameworks.

• Establish, streamline, and maintain frictionless document collection workflows and onboarding pipeline tracking.

• Perform risk assessments for new and existing business relationships, including EDD.

• Screen entities and individuals for sanctions, PEPs, adverse media, and other risk indicators.

• Investigate and escalate high-risk findings and potential suspicious activity.

• Write and update AML, KYB and onboarding policies and procedures.

• Support regulatory audits, inspections and compliance reporting.

• Support the preparation of internal escalation reports.

What Makes You a Fit

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in a dedicated AML, KYB, or Compliance role within a high-risk sector.

• A recognized industry certification.

• Deep working knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks and GDPR/data privacy standards.

• Direct experience navigating compliance software such as Zygos or Ebos.

• Familiarity with the modern payments ecosystem, including EMIs, correspondent banking rails, crypto assets, and high-risk acquiring channels.

• Clear, precise writing for policies and reports.

• Strong organization and attention to detail.

• Curiosity, and a habit of digging until things make sense.

Nice to have

• Prior experience managing, mentoring, or supervising a compliance team is a strong plus, as the role can be scaled to a People Lead position for the right candidate.

• Legal training or a legal background.

• Knowledge of the Cyprus regulatory environment.
