Compliance Manager – Dili

Compliance Manager · New York, NY/Remote · Full-time ·

About Dili

Dili builds software that helps construction and clean-energy companies manage complex prevailing wage, apprenticeship, and labor compliance requirements.

We started Dili because labor compliance is still handled through a mix of spreadsheets, PDFs, manual review, and institutional knowledge, despite determining whether some of the largest construction projects in the country are compliant.

Today, we're a team of roughly 35 and growing quickly across all teams. We're building the infrastructure to turn complex regulatory requirements into software that can be evaluated consistently, explained clearly, and audited.

The Role

We're hiring a Compliance Manager with hands-on experience in prevailing wage and apprenticeship (PWA) compliance to review reports, work through regulatory questions, and support both the Dili team and our clients.

Our customers rely on Dili to get PWA right on some of the largest construction and clean-energy projects in the country. In this role, you'll be the expert behind that work: checking reports and documentation, researching guidance under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Davis-Bacon Act, and turning complex requirements into clear, practical next steps.

You'll act as the primary client contact on your engagements and serve as a go-to resource for PWA questions across the company. You'll also work closely with our product and engineering teams, helping shape the review processes, templates, and tools that let us scale compliance work through software.

What You'll Do

  • Review PWA reports and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with applicable requirements.
  • Research and interpret regulatory guidance, document your findings, and translate complex requirements into clear, practical explanations.
  • Be a go-to resource for PWA questions from our team and clients.
  • Spot gaps and inconsistencies, and separate routine fixes from issues that need deeper review. When you escalate, bring a recommendation, not just the problem.
  • Act as the primary client contact on assigned engagements, translating labor compliance requirements into concrete next steps.
  • Assist with internal contracting amendments, such as SOWs.
  • Help improve our review processes, templates, and tools.
  • Develop internal and external resource materials.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days

Learn Dili's product, customers, and review process. Get familiar with our active engagements, and start reviewing PWA reports alongside the team.

Build a working view of where our current processes and materials are strong and where they need work.

By 60 Days

Own reviews on assigned engagements end to end, and serve as the primary contact for a set of clients.

Become a reliable resource for PWA questions from the team, with well-documented findings and clear recommendations.

By 90 Days

Manage multiple engagements at once with minimal oversight.

Ship at least one meaningful improvement to our review process, templates, or tools, and contribute to a new internal or client-facing resource.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in a detail-driven, client-facing role, such as compliance, consulting, advisory, or at a CPA firm. 8-10 years of overall compliance and regulatory experience.
  • Direct experience with prevailing wage and/or apprenticeship compliance.
  • Working knowledge of the Inflation Reduction Act's PWA requirements and the Davis-Bacon Act.
  • Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
  • Real curiosity about regulations. You'd rather read the primary source than rely on someone's summary.
  • The ability to work directly with clients and run multiple engagements at once without losing track of details.
  • Comfort learning new tools quickly and operating independently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with certified payroll reporting or labor compliance tools such as LCPtracker.
  • Familiarity with state prevailing wage laws and Department of Labor wage determinations.
  • Background in clean energy, construction, or tax credit advisoryExperience creating training materials, guides, or other resources for clients or internal teams.
  • Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.

Visa: US citizen/visa only.
