About the Role
Role Purpose
Seeking an experienced, highly analytical and commercially aware Nigeria Compliance Officer to strengthen the quality and compliance of student recruitment from Nigeria.
The role will be responsible for identifying and mitigating visa and recruitment risks across the Nigerian student pipeline, analysing refusal trends, reviewing applicant profiles and supporting the business and partner universities in improving visa outcomes, student quality and conversion.
This is not a visa application processing role. It is a strategic market compliance role focused on risk identification, analysis, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Visa Refusal Analysis and Risk Management
2. Applicant Quality and Pre-CAS Risk Review
3. Agent Compliance & Performance
Monitor visa outcomes by agent and identify agents generating disproportionate levels of refusal or high-risk applications.
4. Refusal Notice Management
Analyse refusal notices and identify common themes.
Maintain an accurate refusal database that can be used for trend analysis and partner reporting.
Ensure significant refusal trends are communicated promptly rather than waiting for periodic reporting.
5. Data & Analytics
The role will have a strong analytical component.
The successful candidate will:
Develop and maintain compliance KPIs and dashboards.
Key Performance Indicators
Performance will be measured against indicators including:
Reduction in avoidable visa refusals.
Timeliness and completeness of refusal-notice collection.
Accuracy and quality of refusal analysis.
Quality of pre-CAS risk interventions.
Agent compliance and improvement following intervention.
Quality and timeliness of management reporting.
Completion of compliance training programmes.
Partner university satisfaction with the quality of Nigeria compliance reporting.
Evidence of improved application quality and conversion through appropriate risk management, rather than simply increasing application volumes.
Person Specification
