The Compliance Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day ownership and administration of key components of the Company’s compliance program, with particular responsibility for BSA/AML, sanctions compliance, regulatory reporting, compliance monitoring, training administration, and audit support. Reporting directly to the Associate General Counsel, Director of Compliance, the Compliance Specialist independently manages assigned compliance functions, subject to appropriate oversight, review, and escalation. This position works closely with Legal, Compliance, Fraud, Operations, and other business functions, as well as the Company’s bank partners and other external stakeholders. The Compliance Specialist manages the day-to-day processes for identifying, investigating, escalating, and reporting potentially suspicious activity; administers OFAC and other sanctions-related processes; prepares and maintains required regulatory filings and related documentation; and conducts ongoing monitoring and testing of assigned compliance controls. The position will also coordinate internal and external audits and examinations, including managing information requests, gathering and reviewing documentation, tracking deliverables and deadlines, communicating with stakeholders, and coordinating remediation activities. In addition, this role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Company’s compliance training program, including maintaining employee information within the training platform, assigning required training, monitoring completion, following up on overdue assignments, and maintaining appropriate training records. The Compliance Specialist will also provide administrative and substantive support for the Company’s Compliance Committee, including preparation of meeting materials and minutes, and will support other Legal and Compliance initiatives as assigned. The successful candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, and appropriately escalate issues when necessary. This is a hybrid position working in our Mt. Laurel, NJ office 3 days a week with 2 days a week remote. Key Duties and Responsibilities Own and administer assigned components of the Company’s BSA/AML and sanctions compliance programs, including transaction monitoring, investigations, SAR-related processes, OFAC review and escalation, FinCEN reporting, recordkeeping, and other applicable regulatory requirements, subject to appropriate management oversight and escalation. Review and analyze potentially suspicious activity and collaborate with Fraud professionals and other internal stakeholders in connection with investigations, escalation, documentation, and regulatory reporting. Serve as a primary compliance point of contact for the Company’s bank partners on assigned BSA/AML, sanctions, testing, compliance monitoring, testing, information requests, and related compliance matters, escalating material issues as appropriate. Manage assigned quarterly, annual, and other periodic compliance audits, testing, and examinations, including coordinating document requests, gathering and reviewing supporting materials, tracking deadlines, communicating with stakeholders, and driving identified remediation items through completion. Maintain and update assigned compliance policies, procedures, risk assessments, controls, and related documentation, identifying needed enhancements and escalating material changes for review and approval. Own the day-to-day administration of the Company’s compliance training platform, including employee population updates, training assignments, completion monitoring, overdue notices, recordkeeping, and periodic reporting. Manage the administrative processes supporting the Compliance Committee, including preparing and coordinating materials, maintaining records, documenting meeting minutes, and tracking follow-up items through completion. Monitor relevant regulatory and industry developments, assess their potential impact on assigned compliance areas, and recommend and implement appropriate changes to policies, procedures, processes, and controls following required review and approval. Collaborate effectively with Legal, Compliance, Fraud, Operations, Risk, and other business functions on compliance matters and departmental initiatives. Own or contribute to other Legal and Compliance Department initiatives and projects, as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience, required. 3–5 years of experience in compliance, BSA/AML, financial crimes, regulatory compliance, audit, fraud detection, banking, commercial lending, equipment finance, or a related financial services environment. Must have the ability to obtain a Company-approved BSA/AML certification within 12 months of employment and maintain such certification thereafter. Working knowledge of BSA/AML requirements, OFAC/sanctions compliance, suspicious activity monitoring and reporting, and applicable KYC/customer due diligence principles. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, communicate effectively across functions, and develop productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet established deadlines, follow through on assigned responsibilities, and work independently with appropriate escalation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify potentially suspicious patterns or activity, and document findings clearly and accurately. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Preferred Qualifications Professional certification in BSA/AML or CAMS.
