Alkami is the digital sales and service platform provider for U.S. banks and credit unions. Our unified Platform integrates onboarding, digital banking, and data and marketing—each solution can stand alone, but together they deliver more—to help institutions onboard, engage, and grow relationships. As the future shifts toward Anticipatory Banking, we help data-informed bankers meet the moment with technology that drives action.

Founded in 2009, we continue to be recognized for our intentional culture and tremendous growth (Best Place to Work in Fintech; Best & Brightest to Work For Nationally; and Comparably’s Best Company Culture, Best Career Growth, Best Engineering Team, and Best Places to Work in Dallas, among others). We’re building a culture where each Alkamist can perform to their highest potential, and we’re always on the lookout for the best and brightest minds. If you’re ready to experience the power of alchemy - transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary - come join one of the fastest growing SaaS companies in the U.S.

As a remote-first company, most of our positions can be remote in the US, except for key roles, which will be indicated in the Job Title.

The Compliance Specialist supports Alkami’s compliance management activities by maintaining the documentation, tracking, evidence, and control-validation materials needed for regulatory, audit, policy, and client-facing work. This role applies established procedures to recurring compliance activities while developing knowledge of regulatory, legal, contractual, information-security, and technology-control expectations within a financial services technology environment. The position collaborates with internal stakeholders to organize compliance information, support reviews, and help ensure requirements and follow-up actions are documented accurately. Focus areas may include regulatory monitoring, regulatory change support, audit readiness, policy governance, accessibility, and AI governance compliance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Support recurring compliance monitoring activities by gathering source materials, organizing updates, maintaining trackers, and preparing control-validation evidence under established procedures.
  • Document regulatory developments, business impacts, action items, and validation evidence by using approved templates and guidance.
  • Assist with regulatory, SOC, PCI, and other audit preparation by coordinating evidence collection, organizing documentation, and tracking open requests.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, controls, and related compliance records by updating approved GRC platforms and document repositories.
  • Support periodic control-validation activities by collecting evidence, documenting results, and escalating identified gaps to experienced team members.
  • Build product knowledge across Alkami solutions by reviewing product documentation, attending stakeholder discussions, and connecting product capabilities to compliance requirements.
  • Triage routine internal and client requests related to compliance, risk, governance, information security, privacy, resilience, and third-party oversight by gathering inputs and routing questions to appropriate subject-matter experts.
  • Draft initial compliance responses and status updates by compiling approved information and presenting it in a clear, accurate, and review-ready format.
  • Support incident-related compliance activities by organizing facts, requests, documentation, decisions, and follow-up actions when regulatory, security, privacy, resilience, or vendor-risk considerations apply.
  • Monitor assigned compliance tasks and remediation items by maintaining due dates, following up with stakeholders, and escalating delays or unresolved issues.
  • Apply information-security and technology-control concepts by supporting evidence related to access management, logging, monitoring, cloud-hosted environments, and other control areas.
  • Use AI-enabled tools appropriately by following governance requirements, validating outputs, and protecting confidential or regulated information.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years plus of experience in compliance, audit, regulatory interpretation and support, policy governance, financial services, fintech, information security, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, legal studies, information systems, risk management, or a related field, and equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to organize documentation, maintain accurate records, and support repeatable compliance processes with consistency.
  • Working knowledge of compliance, audit, policy governance, or control-validation practices.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for preparing documentation and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing, inconsistent, or incomplete information.
  • Ability to exercise judgment within established procedures and escalate questions or risks appropriately.
  • Proficiency with productivity, collaboration, and structured tracking tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and follow-up actions in a regulated environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience in interpretation and application of consumer protection laws, including privacy.
  • Familiarity with banking, fintech, SaaS, or regulated technology environments.
  • Exposure to GRC tools, audit-management platforms, or structured workflow systems.
  • Knowledge of SOC, PCI DSS, or comparable compliance and control frameworks.
  • Exposure to information-security concepts such as IAM, logging, monitoring, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with accessibility requirements or AI governance compliance practices.
  • J.D. or degree in legal studies preferred.
