Computer Aided Design Operator

A well-established joinery firm in Australia is seeking for CAD Operators (2) to support the company remotely as part of its local expansion here:

Work Set-up: Work from home; Full-time role

Monday-Friday; AU time

Job Scope

• Prepare detailed CAD shop drawings from architectural drawings, client plans, sketches, specifications and site measurements.
• Produce accurate joinery and cabinetry drawings suitable for client approval and manufacturing.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections and detailed construction drawings.
• Produce detailed drawings showing dimensions, materials, finishes, hardware and construction methods.
• Interpret architectural and interior design drawings and convert them into practical manufacturing drawings.
• Prepare drawings for custom cabinetry, counters, display units, wall units, shelving and other commercial joinery.
• Ensure drawings accurately reflect manufacturing and installation requirements.
• Revise drawings following client, project manager, production or site feedback.
• Coordinate with the Australian operations, production and installation teams to resolve drawing and manufacturing issues.
• Maintain accurate drawing revisions and project documentation.
• Work across multiple projects while meeting required drawing deadlines.

Requirements:

• Experience producing detailed joinery/shop drawings for commercial projects, particularly retail fit-outs
• Strong understanding of cabinetry and joinery construction methods
• Able to interpret architectural drawings, plans, specifications and client requirements that are communicated by us
• Able to produce accurate manufacturing/shop drawings ready for workshop production
• Detailing items such as counters, cabinets, wall units, shelving, displays and other custom joinery (as shown in example attachment)
• Good understanding of materials, hardware, fixings & manufacturing requirements
• Able to work accurately from site dimensions and mark-ups
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues before drawings are released (if in doubt, reach out to us)
