Construction Client Accountant Remote | Construction Accounting | Sage 100 Contractor | Client Facing If you're an experienced construction accountant who enjoys working directly with clients, solving day-to-day accounting challenges, and managing a variety of work, this may be a great fit at Syscon. As a Construction Client Accountant with Syscon, you'll manage the day-to-day accounting needs of multiple construction clients, working directly in Sage 100 Contractor across payroll, job costing, WIP, billing, reconciliations, and month-end close. You'll have ownership of your client work along with the support of a team that knows construction accounting and technology. Please Read Before Applying Recent, hands-on Sage 100 Contractor experience is required. You must also have direct construction accounting experience with WIP, job costing, payroll, progress billing, reconciliations, and month-end close. Experience with other construction accounting systems does not replace the Sage 100 Contractor requirement. What You'll Do Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple construction clients Personally process payroll directly in Sage 100 Contractor, including payroll taxes and filings Perform bank reconciliations, sales tax filings, month-end close, and billing support Prepare and maintain job costing and WIP Support progress billing, AP, AR, audit, and year-end accounting needs Work directly in Sage 100 Contractor supporting ongoing client accounting workflows Maintain accurate records and a clean audit trail across client work Identify and resolve accounting issues independently when possible Manage multiple client deadlines and competing priorities Communicate clearly with clients and follow through on commitments What You Bring Recent, hands-on Sage 100 Contractor experience Strong, recent construction accounting experience Hands-on experience preparing and maintaining WIP and job costing Hands-on progress billing experience Experience personally processing payroll directly in Sage 100 Contractor, including payroll taxes and filings Multi-state payroll experience Union payroll and/or prevailing wage payroll experience Strong month-end close experience Hands-on AP, AR, journal entry, and reconciliation experience Ability to manage accounting responsibilities, deadlines, and competing priorities across multiple clients Comfort communicating directly with clients about day-to-day accounting questions and needs Strong organization, accuracy, and follow-through Ability to step into an existing client environment with minimal ramp-up What Makes You Stand Out Deep and recent Sage 100 Contractor experience Experience supporting multiple construction companies, entities, or clients Certified payroll experience AIA billing or pay application experience Experience supporting audits and year-end accounting Ability to explain accounting concepts clearly to non-accountants What Success Looks Like Clients trust your accuracy and responsiveness Deadlines are met across your client portfolio Books are clean, reconciled, and audit-ready WIP and job costing information is accurate and supported by the accounting Payroll and filings are accurate and on time Clients rely on you as their go-to resource for day-to-day accounting support How We Work High autonomy with accountability to deadlines and client commitments Strong internal support from leadership, IT, and business applications No ego, no drama: we show up, do the work, and support each other Teaching mindset: we help clients improve, not just complete tasks Compensation & Details Full-time W-2 position Fully remote Salary commensurate with experience Flexible schedule with accountability to client commitments and deadlines Clients across multiple U.S. time zones U.S. work authorization required No employment sponsorship available Benefits 100% employer-paid medical insurance for employees SIMPLE IRA with 3% company match Paid time off with increased flexibility over time Fully remote work environment Supportive, team-oriented culture with strong internal resources You won't be on an island here.
