About DT Infrastructure

DT Infrastructure is a trusted provider of engineering and construction solutions that unlock opportunities for our clients, communities and people. Specialising in Defence, transport and infrastructure, we offer a unique synergy of local expertise in complex projects and the global perspective of our multinational parent company, Gamuda Berhad. Through engineering innovation, collaborative contracting and leading sustainability practices we’re unlocking opportunities for a better tomorrow.

About the role

DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing Rail division. The Construction Manager will lead the delivery of civil and electrical works for the construction of a new rail substation. You'll oversee project planning, construction delivery, safety, commercial performance, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring high-quality outcomes are achieved safely, on time, and within budget. Working closely with clients, project teams, and subcontractors, you will play a critical role in delivering essential rail infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and operational management of multiple rail and infrastructure projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project objectives, budgets, and schedules.
  • Develop project strategies, construction methodologies, and resource plans, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks, delays, and operational challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders, providing clear communication and effective resolution of project issues.
  • Champion a positive safety culture by leading HSE initiatives, conducting site oversight, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee commercial and contractual performance, including budgeting, cost control, reporting, contract administration, and compliance with statutory and project obligations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project teams and subcontractors, driving accountability, quality outcomes, and alignment with DT Infrastructure's values and business objectives.

Experience and capabilities

  • Extensive experience in construction and project operations management, with a strong track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex rail and infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HV/LV electrical engineering management, ideally within a rail environment, combined with a thorough understanding of WA Rail Track Safe Working procedures and operations.
  • Proven ability to drive business growth through stakeholder engagement, business development initiatives, and the identification of new project opportunities.
  • Strong commercial and operational acumen, including strategic planning, budgeting, financial management, contract administration, and business performance optimisation.
  • Effective leadership, coaching, and people management skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams, develop talent, and implement succession planning initiatives.
  • Sound knowledge of rail industry practices, safety and environmental legislation, asset management systems, and integrated management systems, supported by excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
