Construction Procurement Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Construction Procurement Specialists to support major public sector construction programmes. This is an opportunity for procurement and commercial professionals with a strong background in construction procurement, contract management and commercial assurance.

The successful candidates will have experience managing commercial activities across complex construction programmes, with specific knowledge of NEC4 Professional Services Contracts and CEMAR. You will play an important role in supporting contract administration, cost control, supplier performance and ensuring value for money throughout the contract lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

• 
  

  Supporting construction procurement and contract management activities across major public sector programmes.

• 
  

  Administering NEC4 Professional Services Contracts and ensuring contractual obligations are met.

• 
  

  Using CEMAR for contract administration, commercial management and maintaining accurate contract records.

• 
  

  Managing commercial activities, including cost control, financial oversight and payment validation.

• 
  

  Working with suppliers, clients and stakeholders to manage contractual matters and support programme delivery.

• 
  

  Monitoring supplier performance, identifying commercial risks and supporting appropriate mitigation plans.

• 
  

  Supporting commercial assurance activities and ensuring compliance with contractual and public sector requirements.

• 
  

  Reviewing and validating payments against contractual terms, agreed deliverables and supporting documentation.

• 
  

  Identifying opportunities to improve commercial outcomes, deliver efficiencies and achieve value for money.

What We're Looking For

• 
  

  Proven experience in construction procurement and contract management, ideally within major public sector construction programmes.

• 
  

  Practical experience administering NEC4 Professional Services Contracts.

• 
  

  Hands-on experience using CEMAR for contract administration and commercial management.

• 
  

  Strong commercial management and cost control experience.

• 
  

  Experience supporting commercial assurance, payment validation and contract compliance.

• 
  

  Experience managing suppliers, clients and senior stakeholders.

• 
  

  Understanding of public sector governance, assurance and approval processes.

• 
  

  Experience identifying commercial risks, monitoring performance and delivering value for money.

Desirable Experience

• 
  

  Experience supporting large-scale public sector construction or infrastructure programmes.

• 
  

  Experience delivering measurable cost savings and commercial efficiencies.

• 
  

  Experience in commercial reporting, contract performance reviews and risk management.
