Positive Mind Works is a clinician-led telehealth psychology and psychiatry practice serving clients across New Zealand and Australia. Our specialist ADHD service, Focus Mindworks, partners with GP practices and PHOs to give primary care a clear route to ADHD assessment and specialist advice. Demand has grown since NZ GPs began initiating adult ADHD treatment in February 2026.
Role descriptionPsychiatry that fits around your life, not the roster. This is a permanent, salaried role at 0.5–1.0 FTE, fully remote, with no on-call. We provide the referrals, the admin team and the systems, so your time goes on patients.
You'll agree a weekly session mix that suits your interests:
- Adult psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and medication management
- Adult ADHD assessments, with psychometric pre-assessment completed before you see the patient
- Specialist advice to GPs on complex ADHD and prescribing questions
- Optional ACC and medico-legal assessments if they interest you
What we offer:
- $285,000–$320,000 at 1.0 FTE, pro rata for part time, placed by experience
- Generous CME allowance plus paid CME leave
- Generous annual leave and KiwiSaver
- Medical indemnity, MCNZ practising certificate and RANZCP fees paid
- Work from home anywhere in New Zealand, with school-hours schedules available
- No on-call and no after-hours work
- A dedicated psychiatry admin team that handles intake, triage, bookings, billing and correspondence
- A steady referral flow from PMW and a growing network of GP practices
- Peer support from psychologists and psychiatrists across two countries
- Help with MCNZ registration and relocation if you're coming from Australia, the UK or Ireland
- Vocational registration in psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or eligibility for it (including Trans-Tasman recognition or the UK/Ireland/Australia fast-track)
- Experience in adult psychiatry. ADHD experience is valued, and we'll support you to build it.
- Comfortable working by video. Telehealth experience is welcome but not essential.
