Consumer Underwriting Representative

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Consumer Underwriting Representative to join our underwriting team. In this role, you will support prospective renters applying for the lease guarantor program at MRI Insurent by reviewing documentation, providing timely and accurate status updates, assisting applicants through the verification and underwriting process, and ensuring compliance while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Key Responsibilities: Review and analyze consumer credit reports to assess creditworthiness and identify potential underwriting risks. Respond promptly and accurately to consumer inquiries through approved communication channels, providing clear and professional status updates. Escalate issues or concerns to leadership when necessary. Collect, review, and verify consumer-provided documents such as financial statements, proof of income, and identification. Perform preliminary underwriting reviews following established policies and guidelines. Communicate underwriting decisions, next steps, and requests for additional information clearly and professionally. Accurately document all consumer interactions and updates in the system of record. Escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior underwriters as needed. Maintain compliance with company policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with underwriting, operations, and customer support teams to ensure a seamless consumer experience. Benefits Career growth opportunities in a diverse and supportive work environment.
