About the role
We're looking for a detail-focused, entry-level Content Administrator to support an e-commerce client. The role combines general administration in support of the visual merchandising team with website testing and quality checks. Your time will be split roughly 50/50 between the two, and the balance can flex up or down depending on what the team needs most at any given time.
Visual merchandising and administrative support (about 50%)
- Capture and update product data on the website or back-end system
- Update product copy and descriptions onsite
- Update product positioning and categorisation onsite as directed
- Check data for accuracy and consistency before and after it goes live
- Keep product information tidy and up to date as ranges and details change
- Pick up other general admin tasks for the visual merchandising team as they come up
Website testing and quality checks (about 50%)
- Check links across the website to make sure they work and go to the right pages
- Run basic functionality checks, such as forms, buttons, menus, search, filters and the checkout flow
- Test new features before and after release, and on different browsers and devices where needed
- Log bugs clearly, with what you did, what you expected and what actually happened
- Retest fixes once the team has made changes
- Keep a simple record of what has been tested and what is outstanding
What we're looking for
- Matric or equivalent. A diploma or some tertiary study is a plus, but not required
- No formal experience needed, though any exposure to websites, e-commerce or admin work is helpful
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Good written English, as you'll be reporting bugs and editing product copy
- Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets and everyday online tools
- Able to follow instructions, work independently and ask when something is unclear
- Comfortable working with a team and taking requests from more than one person
- Reliable, with a good internet connection and a suitable workspace if working remotely
Nice to have
- Familiarity with platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce or similar
- Basic understanding of how websites work
- Experience with a ticketing or task tracking tool
- Interest in retail, fashion or visual merchandising
What success looks like
- Product data and onsite copy are accurate, consistent and updated on time
- Bugs are found and reported clearly before customers run into them
- The visual merchandising team can rely on you for day-to-day admin support
- You can flex between admin and testing as priorities shift
