As a Content Creator & Editor, you'll play a key role in shaping the online customer experience by creating, editing and maintaining high-quality content across our website. Working closely with Product Owners, content and product design, SEO and stakeholders, you'll ensure content is clear, engaging, accurate and easy to understand, helping customers confidently complete their journeys online.
You'll be responsible for producing new content, improving existing pages and managing website updates to ensure content remains relevant, up to date and compliant with regulatory and accessibility requirements. Using customer insight, content best practice and performance data, you'll continuously optimise content to improve customer understanding, engagement and digital outcomes.
This role combines creative content production with hands-on website management, requiring excellent writing and editing skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage content within a content management system. You'll help ensure customers can easily find the information they need while supporting a consistent, accessible and high-quality experience across all digital channels.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, London or Gosforth office. If you are aligned to our Gosforth hub (as this is your nearest location), there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. This is anticipated to be weekly in Gosforth. You will also be required to be present in Swindon or London once per month. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
Whilst these locations are where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you’re an internal applicant based in a different location we would welcome your application and if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change, as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this recruitment process.
If you’re a colleague on long-term absence (for example, on parental leave) or a temporary worker, please use your personal email address to submit an application.
What you’ll be doing
As a Content Creator & Editor, you'll create, edit and maintain high-quality content across our website, app and Internet Bank, helping customers find the information they need quickly and easily. You'll turn complex information into clear, engaging and accessible content that supports customers through their digital journeys.
Working with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business, you'll ensure content is accurate, compliant and aligned with our brand tone of voice. You'll apply content design, SEO and accessibility best practices to improve readability, search performance and the overall customer experience.
You'll also be responsible for publishing and maintaining content within our content management system, ensuring pages are well-structured, visually engaging and aligned with user experience principles. This includes carrying out quality assurance checks to ensure content, layouts, links and functionality work effectively across devices and channels.
Through a combination of content creation, website management and continuous optimisation, you'll help deliver a consistent, accessible and engaging digital experience that meets customer needs and business objectives.
