Job Description
This is a remote position.
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Content Editor and Proofreader to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and polishing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency. This role requires a strong command of language, excellent grammar skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Editing and Proofreading:
- Review and edit written content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax errors.
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, and format across all content.
- Verify facts, statistics, and references to maintain content credibility.
2. Content Improvement:
- Reorganize and restructure content for readability and coherence.
- Provide constructive feedback to writers to enhance overall content quality.
- Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and meets audience expectations.
3. Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all content complies with copyright and plagiarism policies.
- Adhere to media law and ethical standards when editing sensitive materials.
4. Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with writers, designers, and other team members to ensure cohesive content production.
- Assist in brainstorming and refining content ideas to meet strategic goals.
5. Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
- Track edits and changes to ensure transparency and accountability.
6. Quality Assurance:
- Perform final checks on all content before publication.
- Maintain records of edited content and ensure a streamlined workflow.
Requirements
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a content editor, proofreader, or similar role.
- Proven track record of editing and proofreading across various formats (e.g., articles, reports, blogs, marketing materials).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
- Must have a reliable laptop and a strong internet connection.
- Ability to work remotely and maintain consistent communication with the team
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English Language, or related field.
- Proven experience in editing, preferably within a media or publishing environment.
- Strong writing and editing skills with impeccable grammar and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent research and communication skills.
