Workplace: White City, London - 2 days a week in the office
The role
Sitting within the M&E Marketing team, you’ll lead major integrated marketing campaigns that build awareness, spark conversation and drive viewing across Broadcast and Streaming.
You’ll own campaigns from briefing through to delivery and evaluation, working across the full marketing funnel. From big, bold advertising to the mechanics of performance marketing, you’ll understand how channels work together to reach audiences and deliver results.
At the heart of the role is the ability to write brilliant marketing briefs: clear, simple, structured and grounded in audience insight. Working in close partnership with Creative and Media Strategists, you’ll turn those briefs into compelling, joined-up campaigns. You’ll also bring teams together around a shared strategy, influence stakeholders with competing priorities and ensure campaigns are creatively ambitious, insight-led and delivered to a high standard.
We’re looking for an experienced, proactive marketer who combines strategic thinking with excellent delivery skills. You’ll be confident leading complex campaigns, managing challenging stakeholder relationships and balancing creative ambition with audience and commercial objectives.
Main responsibilities
- Lead integrated campaign strategy and write brilliant briefs, translating content propositions, audience insight, market intelligence and cultural opportunities into clear, simple and structured marketing briefs. Define the target audience, proposition, key messages, objectives and measures of success, using our audience-first framework.
- Own major paid and owned marketing campaigns, leading activity from initial strategy and briefing through to execution and evaluation. Ensure campaigns work across the full funnel, from above-the-line advertising that builds awareness and consideration to performance marketing that drives engagement and viewing.
- Influence and manage stakeholders, building strong relationships with Commissioning, Publicity, Creative, Media and senior internal stakeholders. Navigate competing priorities, challenge constructively and bring people together around a shared campaign strategy and clear decisions.
- Champion creative and distinctive marketing, working with creative and media partners to develop ambitious ideas that cut through, generate conversation and make ITV’s content stand out in a competitive marketplace.
- Use insight and performance data to optimise campaigns, drawing on audience research, market intelligence, media performance and campaign results to inform decisions, demonstrate impact and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness.
- Stay ahead of the market, monitoring competitor activity, cultural trends, audience behaviours and changes in the media landscape to identify opportunities for ITV and inform future campaign planning.
- Build strong relationships with Commissioning and internal teams, ensuring clear and focused content propositions sit at the heart of campaign briefs and identifying the editorial hooks and audience motivations that marketing can amplify.
- Champion ITV’s brand positioning, ensuring campaigns reflect ITV’s tone of voice and There’s No Place Like ITV platform, while allowing individual shows and campaigns to stand out.
- Support the development of the wider marketing team, sharing expertise, contributing to best practice and helping colleagues deliver effective, insight-led campaigns.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Proven experience leading integrated marketing campaigns, with responsibility for planning and delivering major paid campaigns across multiple channels, ideally within entertainment, media or a similarly fast-paced consumer environment.
- Exceptional strategic briefing skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, simple and structured briefs grounded in audience insight, with a compelling proposition, focused objectives and a clear strategic direction.
- Strong full-funnel marketing expertise, with experience across above-the-line advertising, including TV, outdoor and other brand-building channels, alongside digital and performance marketing. Able to explain how channels work together to deliver awareness, consideration and viewing or conversion objectives.
- Experience managing complex campaigns end to end, from strategy and briefing through to delivery, optimisation and evaluation, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships, navigate competing agendas, challenge constructively and secure alignment across a range of teams and seniority levels.
- Strong analytical and audience insight skills, with the ability to interpret research, media data and campaign results, draw out meaningful conclusions and use evidence to shape decisions.
- A strong creative instinct, with the ability to recognise distinctive ideas, develop compelling campaign propositions and work effectively with creative teams and agencies.
- Experience working with creative agencies to develop and produce conceptual marketing campaigns, including collaborating on creative development, talent-led campaigns and shoots, from initial concept through to production and delivery.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate a clear strategy, present recommendations, influence decisions and translate complex information into actionable plans.
- A good understanding of the media landscape, including paid media planning, digital platforms, performance marketing and the role of media and creative agencies in delivering effective campaigns.
- Experience managing budgets and evaluating campaign effectiveness, with an understanding of how to balance creative ambition, audience impact and commercial objectives.
- A strong understanding of television, entertainment and the UK TV marketplace, including audience behaviours, viewing trends, content discovery and the competitive landscape.
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- A collaborative leader who builds trusted relationships and brings people together to deliver shared objectives.
- A genuine passion for television, entertainment, popular culture and the shows and moments that get people talking.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to take ownership, make decisions and resolve challenges.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, maintaining a clear view of the bigger picture while managing the detail.
- Resilience and adaptability, with the confidence to manage pressure, changing priorities and challenging stakeholder situations in a fast-moving environment.
- A commitment to learning, sharing knowledge and continually improving how we plan, deliver and evaluate marketing campaigns.
