Column is the software platform for public information. We build automated tools and workflow solutions that help governments, law firms, and media organizations notify the public. Today, thousands of publishers and tens of thousands of agencies, firms, and individuals rely on Column to keep their communities informed every day. We’re reimagining how public information connects people, institutions, and media.
We're a remote-first team of engineers, designers, and builders who are committed to creating software that supports an informed public.
About the Role
Column | Remote (U.S.-based) | Full-Time
The Content Marketing Manager (Brand & Creative) will build Column’s content engine with a focus on brand and creative, shaping how Column looks, sounds, and shows up everywhere: our website, email, social channels, reports, sales collateral, and events. You’ll turn our expertise, customer stories, and national public notice developments into polished visual, video, and written content that establishes Column as the expert on, and advocate for, public information, access to it, and public notice.
You’ll be the content marketer and visual and brand steward on the marketing team. That means designing graphics, one-pagers, reports, presentations, email and web assets, and producing short-form video, while making sure every piece feels unmistakably Column. You’ll work closely with marketing, product, Customer Success, and Services so our creative reflects what is actually happening in the field.
We’re looking for someone with strong brand instincts: a person who can look at a page, a post, or an email and know right away whether it’s working, and why. This is a content marketing role first, with design and visual storytelling at its core. Writing still matters a lot. You should enjoy writing, write well in your own voice (not by leaning on AI), and care about brand voice as much as brand look. Our voice is strong, professional, mature, and trustworthy, and we want our visuals to match.
What You’ll Do
- Own Column’s visual brand across channels, keeping our website, emails, social, reports, decks, and collateral consistent, polished, and recognizably Column. Evolve and document brand guidelines, templates, and reusable design systems for marketing.
- Design high-quality marketing assets, including one-pagers, sales collateral, case study layouts, monthly Public Notice reports, presentations, conference and event materials, infographics, and data visualizations.
- Produce and edit video for social, YouTube, website, product launches, webinars, and customer testimonials, from short-form clips and motion graphics to edited interviews.
- Lead creative for social media, growing Column’s LinkedIn presence with scroll-stopping graphics, carousels, and short video, and turning reports, customer stories, webinars, and news commentary into visual posts.
- Design and improve email and web experiences, building on-brand email templates and campaign graphics, and partnering on website pages and landing pages (Framer) to make them clearer, sharper, and better converting through testing.
- Bring customer stories to life, from interviews and data collection through written case studies, pull quotes, designed layouts, and video testimonials.
- Write with craft and voice, contributing blog posts, newsletters, social copy, and campaign messaging, and helping keep Column’s brand voice consistent and human across everything we publish.
- Help run the marketing calendar, managing creative requests from intake through design, review, and delivery so the team ships consistently and on time.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong brand instincts and visual taste. You know when something looks good or bad, can articulate why, and hold a high bar for craft, typography, layout, and consistency.
- Skilled designer with a portfolio of polished B2B or brand work across formats: social graphics, one-pagers, reports, decks, email, and web.
- Comfortable with video, including shooting or sourcing footage, editing, captioning, and simple motion graphics for social and web.
- Someone who loves to write. You write clearly and with personality in your own words, you enjoy shaping brand voice, and you can make complex, legal, or regulatory topics feel clear and credible.
- Systems-minded, able to build templates and brand guidelines that help the whole company produce on-brand work faster.
- Organized and reliable, managing multiple creative requests and stakeholders while shipping on schedule without sacrificing quality.
- Curious and collaborative, interested in government, law, local media, and access to information, and comfortable interviewing customers, CSMs, and leadership to find the story.
What Success Looks Like
Key performance indicators will include:
- A cohesive, elevated brand: Column’s website, emails, social, reports, and collateral look and feel consistent, polished, and distinctly Column, supported by documented guidelines and reusable templates.
- Consistent creative output: Approximately 1–2 designed LinkedIn posts per week, at least 2 short videos per month, a designed monthly Public Notice report, 1 designed case study per month, and on-brand graphics for every newsletter and campaign email.
- Campaign and channel support: Timely creative for launches, partnerships, webinars, conferences, and lifecycle campaigns, plus sales enablement assets the team actually uses.
- Audience growth: Growth in LinkedIn followers and engagement, video views, newsletter engagement, website conversion, and gated resource downloads.
- Business impact: Clear attribution between creative, content, and pipeline, showing which assets, posts, emails, and pages generate and influence marketing leads.
- Content repurposing: Major webinars, research, case studies, product education, and customer conversations are consistently turned into multiple visual formats across web, email, LinkedIn, video, and sales enablement.
- Voice and quality: Written and visual work consistently reflects Column’s voice: strong, professional, mature, and trustworthy.
Your First 90 Days

The first 60 days focus on learning Column’s products, customers, brand, and the public notice ecosystem, while quickly contributing visual and written work.
You will:

- Audit our existing brand across the website, emails, social, reports, case studies, and sales collateral, and identify the biggest opportunities to raise the bar
- Take over creative requests in the Marketing Calendar and Marketing Requests workflows
- Set up a regular check-in with CSMs and Services team to source stories for visual and video content
- Start a library of reusable templates for social, email, one-pagers, and reports
By Day 60, you will have:
- Designed and published 6+ LinkedIn posts, including at least one carousel

By the end of your second month, you understand Column’s look, voice, audience, and priorities, and can independently own creative projects from request through delivery.
Days 61-90: Own and Build
By your third month, you are independently running Column’s creative engine: steady visual LinkedIn publishing, regular video, a designed monthly Public Notice report, and on-brand assets for every campaign.
By Day 90, you have shipped a first version of marketing brand guidelines and templates, refreshed at least one high-impact web page or email template, and established a consistent, recognizable Column look and voice across every channel.
