Apply Job Type Full-time Description The PETA Foundation is seeking a highly skilled Content Producer and Investigations Coordinator to transform complex investigative findings into compelling digital content that informs, inspires, and motivates people to take action for animals. This role requires a creative storyteller who can turn research, evidence, and data into clear, persuasive content for diverse audiences. You'll collaborate with campaign staff, media relations professionals, marketing, designers, and senior leadership to bring some of PETA's most important work to life. The ideal candidate is a meticulous fact-checker, exceptional writer, creative thinker, skilled project manager, and experienced digital publisher who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and manages multiple high-priority projects simultaneously. Position Objective: Research, write, publish, and maintain accurate, engaging, and strategically optimized website content that inspires meaningful action for animals while managing complex, often confidential investigations, breaking news, and other high-priority projects Primary Responsibilities and Duties: • In consultation with PETA and in verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by it: o Research, write, edit, publish, and maintain compelling content covering investigations, campaigns, breaking news, and other animal rights issues o Translate complex investigative findings, evidence, research, and data into clear, accurate, persuasive stories that engage audiences and inspire action o Ensure all content meets the highest standards of accuracy, quality, readability, and editorial excellence through rigorous research and fact-checking o Publish and maintain content across PETA websites using WordPress and other digital publishing tools, ensuring exceptional user experience, functionality, accessibility, and presentation o Apply SEO, GEO, and other digital content optimization best practices to maximize visibility, engagement, and impact o Monitor content performance using Google Analytics and other reporting tools and make recommendations based on findings o Manage multiple overlapping projects, priorities, and deadlines at once o Track project timelines, deliverables, approvals, and launch requirements to ensure the successful execution of high-priority initiatives o Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure content is strategically aligned and delivered on schedule o Use AI tools and emerging technologies to support research, ideation, workflow efficiency, content optimization, and digital storytelling • Identify new opportunities to increase visibility, engagement, and support for PETA's campaigns and investigations • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive investigative materials, evidence, strategic communications, embargoed information, and campaign plans • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor Requirements • College degree in journalism, communications, marketing, digital media, or a related field, or equivalent experience • Minimum two years of experience creating and publishing digital content in a newsroom, media, nonprofit, advocacy, marketing, or comparable fast-paced environment • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, research, and fact-checking skills with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and credibility • Proven ability to transform complex subjects, technical information, research findings, and data into engaging content that is accessible, persuasive, and action-oriented • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, shifting priorities, and overlapping deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail • Experience publishing content through WordPress or other content management systems • Experience analyzing content performance using Google Analytics and/or other reporting tools and using insights to inform strategy • Experience using Photoshop, Canva, or similar image-editing software • Strong understanding of SEO, GEO, and other digital publishing best practices • Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools and enthusiasm for leveraging emerging technologies to improve content creation, workflow efficiency, and audience engagement • Ability to work independently, exercise sound editorial judgment, and take initiative while collaborating effectively across departments • Creativity and ability to identify compelling story angles, news hooks, and audience opportunities • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism • Demonstrated knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns • Support for PETA's philosophy and ability to professionally advocate the organization's positions • Commitment to the objectives of the PETA Foundation The hourly pay range for this position is $20.38 - $25.28. The ultimate hourly pay within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
