Job description

About Nexus Points Doc

Nexus Points Doc is a youth-led forensic research platform and social enterprise operating at the intersection of environmental justice and visual storytelling. Supported by the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy, our flagship project — The River Remains — transforms satellite forensics and field documentation into cinematic evidence for global policy-making. We build what we call a Visual Truth-Infrastructure: a methodology that makes the invisible legible.

The Role

We are seeking a Content & Social Media Intern to join our global communications team. This is a remote, flexible role designed for creative minds who understand that the most urgent research means nothing if it cannot reach the people it is meant to protect. You will play a central role in translating our forensic findings, field narratives, and academic partnerships into content that resonates across digital platforms.

Responsibilities

Content Strategy: Develop and draft LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter/X content that communicates complex environmental and forensic research to a broad international audience

Editorial Production: Support the creation of visual and written assets for The Digest — our academic research series that translates peer-reviewed scholarship into accessible public formats

Platform Intelligence: Monitor relevant accounts, trends, and conversations in environmental justice, climate forensics, and policy to identify timely content opportunities

Series Development: Research and propose interview guests and dialogue partners for our Nexus Catalyst series — conversations at the frontier of ecology, justice, and visual research

Qualifications

Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate in Communications, Media Studies, Political Science, Environmental Studies, or a related field

Strong written English and an instinct for narrative — the ability to make rigorous ideas feel urgent and human

Genuine interest in environmental justice, investigative media, or forensic storytelling

Self-directed working style with the ability to meet clear deliverables on a production cycle

3–5 hours per week availability

What We Offer

Elite Academic Ecosystem: Your work will operate within a platform guided by an International Advisory Board of 27 scholars from Yale, Columbia, Oxford, Goldsmiths, and Forensic Architecture

Institutional Recognition: Global exposure through a National Geographic and Nature Conservancy-supported platform

Strategic Mentorship: Direct engagement with a high-caliber professional network bridging forensic research, documentary filmmaking, and international policy

Portfolio Development: Bylined content published on an internationally credible platform, with letter of recommendation upon completion

This is a voluntary, unpaid position. We are looking for mission-driven individuals passionate about contributing to a youth-led movement and building a portfolio within an elite international research and media network.
