Every invoice is reviewed by US-based licensed attorneys using a multi-layered analysis process. We work alongside our corporate clients' existing e-billing system, with no new software or workflow disruption, to deliver verified savings backed by a performance guarantee. We are adding talented contract attorneys to diligently review legal bills that our clients receive from their law firms. This role is ideal for U.S. based licensed attorney's with current or previous experience and knowledge in AmLaw and BigLaw billing environments. This is a contract engagement offering true flexibility — you choose where to work and when to work - setting your own hours around your personal life with reasonable turnaround times. The nature of the work is project-based and batched, making it easy to plan your workload and maintain a sustainable pace without the pressure of a traditional firm environment. This role requires a strong understanding of legal billing practices, keen attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills. Engagement Details Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Commitment: Part-time up to 30 hours/wk Hours: Flexible; work when it suits you, within project deadlines Location: Fully remote Work Style: Project-based and batched, allowing you to plan and pace your workload Responsibilities Complete paid online training courses and collaborate with the Quality Control team for ongoing coaching and feedback Analyze hourly legal bills and review for compliance with our clients’ Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines Use the company’s proprietary software to complete assigned tasks Identify excessive or non-compliant charges on legal bills Verify the accuracy of expenses and disbursements Write persuasive narratives explaining why charges are excessive and/or non-compliant Complete all assigned work before established project deadlines, managing your own time and schedule accordingly Requirements U.S.-based licensed attorney in good standing 3+ years of experience working at a large law firm that bills clients hourly Strong working knowledge of legal billing practices, internal law firm policies, and outside counsel guidelines Commitment to the highest standards of compliant and ethical legal billing Extremely proficient with computer software and emerging technologies Comfortable reviewing and analyzing large volumes of data and performing data entry Highly detail-oriented with a healthy amount of professional skepticism Clear, concise, and polished written communication skills Self-directed and accountable; able to manage deadlines independently without a structured office environment Takes pride in and ownership of their work — the type of person who proofreads their own emails three times before hitting send This is a contract (1099) position.
