Our mission is to accelerate the creation and adoption of technology across the Caribbean region. We are looking for a Contract L2 Software Engineer to join our distributed engineering team. This role is ideal for developers who enjoy working on diverse technical projects, solving real-world problems, and collaborating with high-performing teams across multiple technology initiatives. This is a flexible remote contract role where engineers are compensated based on the time spent completing assigned development tasks. As a Contract L2 Software Engineer, you will work with Orbtronics' engineering teams to design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions. You will contribute to multiple projects across web applications, internal tools, and technology platforms used by governments, enterprises, and startups. You will play a key role in implementing features, improving system performance, and ensuring high standards of code quality. Responsibilities ​ Develop high-quality software solutions in collaboration with Orbtronics engineering teams Translate UI/UX designs and product specifications into functional software interfaces Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for application components Build responsive web interfaces and scalable backend services Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including planning, development, testing, and deployment Assist with debugging, troubleshooting, and improving system performance Participate in code reviews to ensure best practices and maintain code quality Support automation efforts through scripting and development tools Contribute to validation and testing of software components to ensure reliability and functionality Maintain and improve existing codebases when required Document development work and technical implementations Requirements 2+ years experience in software development or equivalent project experience Experience contributing to production software systems Strong understanding of modern web development frameworks Experience working in collaborative development environments Benefits Pay: $8 – $15 USD per hour (based on experience and performance) Work arrangement: Fully remote Schedule: Flexible working hours Commitment: No minimum required hours Compensation model: Paid based on time spent completing approved development tasks Why Work With Orbtronics Work with one of the fastest growing technology companies in the Caribbean Contribute to meaningful technology solutions impacting governments, businesses, and communities Flexible work schedule that adapts to your availability Opportunity to grow into senior engineering or leadership roles as the company expands Exposure to innovative platforms including AI systems, fintech infrastructure, and digital government tools
