A Powerful Partnership

St1 Biokraft is a joint venture between St1 and HitecVision, combining expertise and resources to drive innovation in the biomethane sector. Our goal is to become the leading integrated biomethane provider in the Nordics, playing a vital role in the energy transition. We cover the entire value chain, from feedstock sourcing to distribution and end-user sales, with a strong emphasis on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial sectors.

To support this ambitious growth, we are investing over EUR 1 billion in biomethane production and distribution infrastructure across the Nordics, with several large-scale projects already in progress.

Contract Manager / Project Procurement Manager – St1 Biokraft

Take commercial ownership of the contracts that turn our biomethane ambitions into operating plants.

A partnership driving the energy transition

We are now looking for a Contract Manager / Project Procurement Manager to take responsibility for procurement and contract management in our growth projects — from early development and contracting strategy through construction, final settlement and handover to operations.

About the Role

In this role, you will be the commercial owner of project contracts, ensuring that we select the right partners, agree clear responsibilities and secure delivery at the required quality, schedule and cost.

Your involvement starts before contracts are signed. Working closely with engineering and project management, you will help determine how each project should be packaged and contracted, then lead tendering, evaluation and negotiations.

During execution, you will stay close to both suppliers and the project team. You will manage changes and claims, follow up contractual commitments and ensure that agreements translate into delivery on site.

The role combines commercial judgement, technical understanding and practical problem-solving. You should be equally comfortable leading a negotiation and working through a delivery issue with colleagues in the site office.

You will:

  • Develop contracting strategies and procurement plans, including EPC, multiple-contract and hybrid approaches.

  • Identify and assess suppliers and contractors with the technical capability and delivery capacity our projects require.

  • Lead tender processes, supplier evaluations and negotiations for major construction, equipment and EPC contracts.

  • Work with engineering to ensure that technical requirements, scope boundaries and acceptance criteria are clearly reflected in contracts.

  • Negotiate pricing, liabilities, performance guarantees, delay damages and securities, with appropriate allocation of risk.

  • Follow up supplier performance, contractual milestones, inspection and test plans, documentation and equipment deliveries.

  • Manage change orders and claims, maintain clear records and support cost control throughout execution.

  • Review payment milestones and invoices against contractual terms and actual progress.

  • Coordinate contractual matters across suppliers, project management, engineering and site teams, including obligations related to health, safety, security and the environment.

  • Complete final settlements, support handover to operations and follow up warranty obligations.

  • Help develop practical procurement and contract management processes, templates and routines.

What You Bring

You have a proven track record in procuring and managing substantial contracts for capital-intensive projects. Your experience extends into execution, where you have dealt directly with changes, claims, payment milestones and final settlements.

Your background may be with an asset owner, an EPC supplier or a contractor. What matters is your ability to take ownership of the contracts and understand how commercial decisions affect project delivery.

We are looking for:

  • Solid experience in project procurement and contract management within energy, process industry, construction or comparable industrial environments.

  • Experience leading negotiations for major EPC, turnkey, construction or equipment contracts.

  • A sound understanding of contract law and relevant standard agreements, such as ABA99, FIDIC, AB/ABT, NL/NLM or Orgalime.

  • The technical understanding needed to connect engineering requirements with contractual commitments and delivery follow-up.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.

  • Willingness to travel and spend time on site during project execution.

Experience in biogas or other process industries, international projects, and developing ways of working in a growing organisation would be valuable. A relevant qualification in engineering, business or law is an advantage.

How You Work

You are structured, persistent and commercially astute. You keep track of the details while understanding which issues have the greatest impact on the project.

You can challenge a supplier, hold a clear position and still maintain a constructive working relationship. You communicate early, bring the right people into the discussion and follow issues through to resolution.

You also enjoy building effective ways of working. As our project portfolio grows, you will help establish routines that give teams clarity and support sound decisions.

Our Cornerstones

Our culture connects a shared ambition with collective responsibility for results:

  • Be Collaborative – bring colleagues and partners together, share knowledge and solve problems jointly.

  • Be Open – ask questions, raise concerns early and welcome different perspectives.

  • Be Commercial – understand the business impact of decisions and balance opportunity with risk.

  • Be the Expert – take responsibility for your field, develop your knowledge and stay close to delivery.

What We Offer

You will have a direct influence on how our plants are procured, built and handed over to operations. Your work will shape project outcomes, from the quality of our supplier agreements to the resolution of issues during construction.

You will join a growing organisation where there is room to contribute your experience, improve processes and work closely with colleagues across technical and commercial disciplines.

This is an opportunity to follow major investments from early decisions to operating assets — and see the tangible results of your work in the energy transition.
