Contract Writer - A Book on Psalm 23 and Jesus as the Good Shepherd

Location: Remote Position Overview We are seeking a contract writer to develop and write a Christ-centered book focused on Psalm 23 and Jesus as the Good Shepherd. While Psalm 23 is one of the most beloved and recognizable passages in all of Scripture, it is often reduced to familiar sentimentality, shallow comfort, or generic self-care imagery. This project will rescue the psalm from over-familiarity, grounding David’s words in rich biblical theology and connecting the imagery of the Old Testament shepherd directly to Jesus Christ—the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep and the Great Shepherd of the sheep. This book will explore what it means to live under the tender, sovereign, and protective care of Christ in a chaotic world, demonstrating how our true rest, protection, provision, and ultimate hope are anchored in His faithful character rather than our own strength. Scope of Work Research, outline, and write a full-length manuscript (approximately 45,000–75,000 words) Collaborate closely with the editorial team through multiple rounds of revision Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitment Commitment Contract, per-project basis. Compensation Compensation is determined based on project scope and complexity. Additional Information Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work. Broad descriptions such as “Christian women” or “believers” are not sufficient. 5. Comparable Titles (2–3 from the Past 5 Years) Identify 2–3 comparable books published within the last five years and explain: How your book overlaps with each one How it is meaningfully distinct in approach, audience, tone, or theological emphasis 6. Author Bio Explain what uniquely qualifies you to write this book, including: Education Ministry, counseling, academic, or professional experience Subject-matter expertise Lived experience relevant to the topic (if appropriate) Previous publishing or writing experience 7. Detailed Chapter Outline Provide a working table of contents that includes: Chapter titles The main idea of each chapter and how it supports the controlling idea of the book 8. Front and Back Matter (Optional) Describe any supplemental materials (e.g., photography, illustrations, reflection questions, discussion guides, recommended resources, liturgies, appendices, etc.). 9.
