Contracts Negotiator Construction

Our UK-based construction client is looking for a motivated Contracts Negotiator to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in UK construction contracts who is looking to develop their commercial negotiation skills.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyors, you will assist in negotiating subcontractor and supplier agreements, reviewing contract terms, and ensuring contracts are commercially sound and compliant with company standards.

• Assist with negotiating subcontractor and supplier agreements.
• Review contract terms, conditions, and commercial clauses.
• Prepare and amend contracts, variations, and contract schedules.
• Support the Commercial Manager during contract negotiations.
• Identify contractual risks and escalate where necessary.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation and negotiation records.
• Monitor contract approvals and execution timelines.
• Assist with resolving contractual queries and discrepancies.
• Ensure contracts comply with UK construction standards and company procedures.
  

• 2–4 years' experience in a Contracts, Commercial, Procurement, or Quantity Surveying support role.
• Previous experience within the UK construction industry.
• Exposure to JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

• Desirable
• Experience negotiating subcontractor or supplier agreements.
• Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Business, or a related field.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and commercial contract administration.
