Job Title: Controller  Location: Remote – Latin America  Type of Contract : Full-Time | Remote  Salary Range: USD $5,000 – $6,500 Monthly  Language Requirements: Exceptional English proficiency (verbal and written communication skills required) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and finance function for a fast-growing U.S.-based SaaS company. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader with proven Controller experience in U.S. companies, preferably within organizations generating $40M–$80M in annual revenue. As the company continues to grow through organic expansion and acquisitions, you will oversee all core accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, manage audits and tax compliance, and help build scalable financial processes. You will also play a key role in integrating acquired entities and optimizing the company's financial systems. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger management, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial close in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Oversee annual financial audits, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors and ensuring audit readiness throughout the year. Manage sales tax compliance across multiple U.S. jurisdictions and coordinate with external tax advisors as needed. Lead purchase accounting activities related to acquisitions, including integration of acquired entities and compliance with applicable accounting standards. Oversee accounting across multiple legal entities, including intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and consolidations. Evaluate, optimize, and manage the company's financial technology stack, including ERP systems, billing platforms, and other accounting applications. Develop and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and financial processes to support continued growth. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the accounting team while driving operational excellence and continuous process improvement. Partner closely with executive leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. Must-Have Qualifications Proven Controller experience within U.S.-based companies is required. Experience working for a U.S. company with approximately $40M–$80M in annual revenue. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 4+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including recent experience as a Controller. Strong expertise in month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger management, and U.S. GAAP. Demonstrated experience leading annual financial audits and working directly with external auditors. Hands-on experience managing U.S. sales tax compliance across multiple states. Experience supporting acquisitions, including purchase accounting and post-acquisition integration. Experience managing accounting across multiple legal entities, including intercompany accounting and consolidations. Strong experience with ERP systems and accounting software, along with process improvement initiatives. Exceptional English communication skills, with the ability to work directly with executives and cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a SaaS company strongly preferred. CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification. Experience in high-growth or acquisitive organizations. Experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems and accounting technology. Proven ability to build scalable accounting processes in growing businesses. Prior experience leading and developing remote accounting teams.
