Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee the firm's accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and treasury operations, leading a team of approximately 13 professionals, including two direct reports.

The Controller will have responsibility for all accounting and treasury activities across Sensiba's US and International subsidiaries in Australia and Ireland, ensuring consistent financial processes, effective cash management, and appropriate financial controls across our global operations. As Sensiba continues to grow and evolve, we are investing in our finance organization, technology, and business processes to support the firm's next chapter.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and a passion for continuous improvement. They will be equally comfortable managing the details of accounting operations and partnering with the CFO and firm leadership on strategic initiatives.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on, strategic accounting leader who can ensure the integrity and timeliness of financial operations while challenging the status quo and building a more scalable, automated, and technology-enabled Finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting and financial reporting for the firm's US and International subsidiaries, including operations in Australia and Ireland.
  • Lead the firm's month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Ensure consistent accounting policies, reporting standards, and financial controls across domestic and international entities.
  • Coordinate with local accounting, tax, and other professional advisors to support statutory reporting and regulatory compliance in each jurisdiction.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes, workflows, systems, and internal controls to drive efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and leverage technology, including AI, to improve the effectiveness of the Finance function.
  • Oversee international treasury operations, including cash management, foreign currency transactions, intercompany funding, and banking relationships.
  • Partner with the CFO to develop scalable global treasury practices that support the firm's liquidity needs and growth strategy.
  • Lead the continued evolution and standardization of billing processes across audit, tax, and consulting services, including fixed fee, milestone, and subscription-based billing.
  • Establish meaningful performance metrics and dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of accounting operations.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of approximately 13 accounting professionals, including two direct reports.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and development opportunities while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of financial systems and technology.
  • Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial planning.
  • Contribute to mergers and acquisitions, integration, and other strategic initiatives as the firm grows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the firm's financial infrastructure and support its long-term growth strategy.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience managing accounting operations for multiple legal entities, preferably across international jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, internal controls, and close processes.
  • Experience in a professional services environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success improving processes, implementing technology, and automating repetitive work.
  • Working knowledge of international accounting and financial reporting considerations, including foreign currency translation and intercompany transactions.
  • Experience with international treasury operations, including foreign currency exposure, cash management, and cross-border banking.
  • Familiarity with accounting and regulatory requirements in Australia and Ireland is a plus.
  • Experience with financial systems and accounting technology, including ERP platforms and workflow automation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across an organization.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with a willingness to get into the details when necessary.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset and genuine curiosity about how Finance can better serve the business.
Education Preferences:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience in a Controller or similar accounting leadership role.

Compensation & Benefits

This role offers a competitive base salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary ranges for U.S.-based positions are determined by geographic location and fall into one of three pay zones, which reflect the cost of labor in that area. The anticipated salary ranges for this position are outlined below and are subject to change:
  • US 1: $168,800 - $211,000
  • US 2: $153,600 - $192,000
  • US 3: $138,400 - $173,000
