Job Title: Coordinator, Public Health Initiatives – Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy

Department: Public Health Initiatives – Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy
Reports To: Senior Director of Public Health Initiatives
Employment Type: Full-Time, Regular (Grant-Funded Position)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Fully Remote
Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 annually
Funding Source: This position is grant-funded and contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds.
Travel: Domestic travel to support program meetings, approximately three trips annually depending on program needs.
Supervisory Responsibility: None

The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine represents clinicians and researchers with expertise in high-risk pregnancy care. SMFM and its members lead the evidence-based practice of high-risk pregnancy care through education, research, and advocacy, with the goal of advancing optimal [MM1] perinatal outcomes.


About the Role

SMFM is seeking a Coordinator, Public Health Initiatives – Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy, to support the team’s grant-funded programs. This role keeps meetings, participant communications, project records, and materials organized so Managers and the Senior Director can deliver clinical education and quality improvement activities.

The Coordinator supports programs across the team. Managers and the Senior Director retain responsibility for program design, clinical content decisions, and overall direction.


What You’ll Do

Program & Participant Coordination

• Coordinate administrative activities for a mini-grants program supporting evidence-based hypertension care during pregnancy and postpartum, including application materials, scheduling, participant communications, tracking, and records.

• Support Hypertension in Pregnancy Learning Collaborative cohorts through outreach coordination, applications, onboarding, participant communications, and progress tracking.

• Support the Manager’s quality improvement academy and implementation cohort by coordinating site communications, meeting materials, participant records, and action-item follow-up.

• Maintain program calendars, trackers, and organized records so the team can monitor deadlines, activities, and grant deliverables.


Meetings & Education Support

• Coordinate scheduling, speaker communications, materials, and logistics for a virtual rural maternal hypertension summit and quarterly Hypertension in Pregnancy Action Forum.

• Provide administrative and coordination support for the maternal hypertension course at the SMFM Pregnancy Meeting and other assigned educational activities.

• Support in-person program meetings through attendee communications, meeting logistics, materials, notes, and follow-up in coordination with the Manager and SMFM’s meetings team.


Communications, Materials & Reporting Support

• Coordinate routine communications with internal colleagues, clinical sites, speakers, subject matter experts, and external partners; refer programmatic and clinical questions to a Manager or the Senior Director.

• Support a LinkedIn campaign for the Hypertension in Pregnancy Action Forum in coordination with the program and communications teams.

• Track drafts, organize review and feedback, and maintain versions of meeting reports, animations, infographics, publications, and other program materials.

• Organize meeting notes, participant records, and project documentation to support progress reporting and timely completion of grant-funded activities.

• Travel domestically, as needed, to provide on-site coordination and documentation support for program meetings.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

About You

You are an organized, responsive coordinator who follows through on details and communicates clearly with colleagues and partners. You can track several activities at once, prepare accurate materials and records, and recognize when a question needs a Manager’s decision.


Experience & Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

• Approximately two to four years of experience in program coordination, administrative support, project coordination, association management, nonprofit programs, healthcare, public health, or a related field.

• Strong organizational, scheduling, written communication, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.

• Ability to support meetings and participant communications, manage competing deadlines, and work respectfully with colleagues and external stakeholders.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams.


Preferred

• Experience supporting meetings, committees, grants, coalitions, or multi-stakeholder projects.

• Familiarity with maternal health, healthcare education, grant-funded programs, or membership associations.

• Familiarity with PubMed or other research databases, EndNote, Box, or Airtable.


Other Requirements

• Ability to travel domestically on occasion to support program meetings; travel frequency will depend on program needs.

• Duties may be adjusted to align with final grant requirements, approved workplans, budget parameters, and funder guidance.

• Accurate and timely program schedules, participant communications, records, and project trackers.

• Reliable coordination of meetings, educational activities, and participant follow-up.

• Well-organized materials and documentation supporting grant deliverables and team reporting.

• Responsive support to Managers, the Senior Director, participating clinical sites, and program partners.
