Supply Chain -Coordinator

Location - Kuala Lumpur OR Penang

WORK SCHEDULE & COVERAGE REQUIREMENTS

This position is part of a Global Freight Escalation Team responsible for providing continuous transportation visibility and escalation management support. Resources must be willing to work assigned shifts and provide planned coverage for other FET team members so they can observe their regional holidays and scheduled vacations. Work schedules may be adjusted with advance notice to support business needs and maintain continuous team coverage.

Work Arrangement: This position may be performed remotely or under a hybrid work arrangement, based on business needs and applicable company requirements.

The preferred staffing model consists of 1 resources, with each resource working a 40-hour compressed work week comprising 5 8-hour to provide extended operational coverage.

**Subject to change to cover other FET team members’ vacations and holidays.


Key Responsibilities

Monitor urgent and high-priority shipments. An urgent or high-priority shipment is one that is not moving as expected or requires enhanced tracking because a delay may cause a customer line-down event or disrupt operations at an internal plant. Identify delays, exceptions, and service risks, and coordinate timely escalation and recovery actions.

  • Monitor Carrier tracking reports/systems to identify shipments not moving as planned and escalate to mitigate impact.
  • Lead escalations with carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal teams.
  • Develop and execute recovery plans to reduce shortages, production disruption, customer impact, and added cost.
  • Monitor weather, port congestion, labor activity, geopolitical events, customs delays, and carrier disruptions.
  • Provide clear status updates, risk assessments, ownership, next steps, and expected resolution timing.
  • Manage service failures through complaint, root cause analysis, corrective action, and follow-up processes.
  • Maintain escalation records, event timelines, shift handoffs, dashboards, KPIs, and trend reporting.
  • Create logistics purchase orders as needed to support Logistics team.
  • Must be comfortable communicating with global stakeholders, carriers, and logistics providers in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain current SOPs, playbooks, contact lists, and escalation procedures.
  • Participate in incident reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and carrier performance discussions.
  • Support training and cross-training activities to maintain coverage continuity across the global FET.
  • Identify recurring transportation risks, analyze trends, and recommend preventive actions to reduce future disruptions.
