The Core Banking Application Analyst will support the bank’s mission-critical core banking platform and related applications, with primary focus on day-to-day operational stability, issue resolution, vendor coordination, business support, and project delivery. The role requires a strong techno-functional understanding of core banking processes, particularly Temenos T24/Transact or similar platforms, along with the ability to work closely with business users, IT teams, infrastructure teams, automation teams, project managers, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for core banking applications, ensuring continuity of day-to-day business activities and timely resolution of production issues.
  • Act as a functional analyst and liaison between business users, IT Applications, infrastructure, automation, project teams, and external vendors.
  • Analyze incidents, service requests, and business issues to determine root cause, business impact, customer impact, and appropriate resolution path.
  • Coordinate with vendors such as core banking providers and related service partners to open, track, escalate, and resolve support tickets within agreed timelines.
  • Support core banking modules and processes including accounts, deposits, lending, payments, standing orders, sweeps, cash pooling, accounting, reporting, and related interfaces.
  • Participate in application upgrades, enhancements, releases, migrations, and integration projects involving core banking and downstream systems.
  • Gather and document business requirements, assess functional and technical impacts, and translate requirements into clear specifications or actionable work items.
  • Support testing activities including unit testing, SIT, UAT coordination, regression testing, production validation, and post-implementation support.
  • Review vendor-provided solutions, validate design proposals, and ensure solutions align with business needs, operational controls, risk requirements, and IT standards.
  • Contribute to change management, release planning, deployment coordination, CAB preparation, and production readiness activities.
  • Monitor batch processes, interfaces, data flows, file transfers, and scheduled jobs related to core banking and connected platforms.
  • Maintain application documentation, operational procedures, support guides, and knowledge transfer materials for the IT Applications team.
  • Support audit, regulatory, disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management activities related to core banking applications.
  • Provide guidance to junior analysts or support team members and promote knowledge sharing across the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong experience supporting core banking applications in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Temenos T24/Transact or comparable core banking platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of banking operations, payments, securities, client transactions, accounting, reporting, and end-of-day or batch processing concepts.
  • Experience working with incident management, problem management, service requests, change management, and release management processes.
  • Ability to analyze complex business and technical issues, assess risks, define practical solutions, and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors, raising support cases, tracking issues, and managing escalations.
  • Strong documentation, process mapping, testing coordination, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize critical production issues, and support business continuity in a mission-critical environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of integrations involving MuleSoft, MQ, data warehouse, reporting platforms, file transfers, or similar middleware and data flow technologies.
  • Experience with Jira, ITSM tools, vendor portals, and structured ticket management practices.
  • Exposure to regulatory, audit, disaster recovery, and business continuity requirements in a banking environment.
  • Experience supporting technical or functional upgrades of core banking platforms.
  • Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, reconciliation, interface monitoring, or batch job scheduling tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work across global teams and coordinate activities with stakeholders in different regions and time zones.

Expected Work Allocation

  • Operational Support / Run the Bank: Approximately 60% of the role, focused on production support, issue resolution, ticket management, monitoring, vendor coordination, and business continuity.
  • Projects / Change the Bank: Approximately 40% of the role, focused on upgrades, enhancements, integrations, testing, documentation, and collaboration with business and IT project teams.

Compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act related principles, laws, rules and regulations, as well as Itau's related policies and procedures.
