Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced Core Recovery and Capitals Leader to lead the strategy and execution of major component programs supporting wind turbine repowering, fleet performance, asset retention, and future upgrade requirements. This role will have end-to-end ownership of complex major component programs, including Order-to-Remittance (OTR), repower site component retention, and upgrades of major components in storage. The Project Manager will work across Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Services, Commercial, Finance, and other functions to ensure component availability, execution readiness, commercial alignment, and delivery against business and customer commitments.Job Description
The ideal candidate is an experienced program or project leader who can operate effectively in a complex, cross-functional environment, influence stakeholders without direct authority, identify and resolve issues, and drive programs from strategy through execution.
This position requires approximately 30% travel to wind project sites, operational locations, suppliers, and other business-related destinations.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Component Stream Execution
- Lead the end-to-end strategy and execution of major component programs supporting fleet performance, repowering activities, asset retention, and customer requirements.
- Own the Order-to-Remittance (OTR) process for major components, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution, delivery, commercial alignment, and issue resolution.
- Drive visibility, accountability, and communication across the organization to ensure program and customer commitments are achieved.
- Identify and proactively manage program risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and escalations.
Core Recovery Strategy
- Support the development of strategies for retaining major components and assets from wind turbine repower sites.
- Lead execution of the retention strategy, coordinating technical, supply chain, operations, services, and other stakeholders.
- Evaluate component condition, availability, future requirements, and potential reuse opportunities.
- Develop and execute plans to ensure retained components are properly managed, preserved, and positioned to support future fleet and customer needs.
Capital components upgrades
- Support the development of upgrade strategies for major components currently in storage.
- Assess technical, operational, and business requirements for component upgrades.
- Develop detailed execution plans, schedules, resource requirements, and stakeholder responsibilities.
- Coordinate Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Services, and external partners to execute upgrade programs.
- Drive implementation to ensure stored components are appropriately upgraded, preserved, documented, and ready for future deployment.
- Track program performance and proactively address technical, commercial, logistical, and operational issues.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead complex, multidisciplinary programs across Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Services, Commercial, Finance, and other functional organizations.
- Influence and align stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Establish effective governance, communication, and escalation processes.
- Manage competing priorities across multiple programs while maintaining focus on business and customer commitments.
- Communicate program status, risks, opportunities, and decisions to leadership and key stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to improve capital component OTR processes, tools, systems, and workflows.
- Lead initiatives that simplify execution, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve visibility and accountability.
- Develop and standardize best practices across major component programs.
- Identify recurring issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement in program execution, planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of project or program management experience within the energy, power generation, renewable energy, wind, or industrial equipment sectors.
- Ability and willingness to travel 30% as required.
Preferred Experience
- Master's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional programs from strategy through execution.
- Experience managing programs involving major equipment, components, supply chain, field operations, or asset management.
- Experience working across multiple functions and organizations in a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or programs simultaneously.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent project/program management certification preferred.
- Strong ability to influence, align, and lead cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with a hands-on approach to execution.
- Experience with wind turbine repowering, major components, fleet operations, or renewable energy strongly preferred.
- Experience using Salesforce, Oracle, ERP systems, or related business management tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at both the operational and executive levels.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Effective problem identification, root-cause analysis, and solution development skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
