About the Role Intermedia is looking for a Core Systems Automation Engineer – L1 to join our Platform & Operations team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain automation-driven infrastructure solutions in a highly available production environment. The position focuses on improving operational efficiency, reliability, and observability through scripting, automation, and modern infrastructure practices. This is a remote position supporting a global environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for infrastructure and operations Create, modify, and maintain scripts using PowerShell (required), Python , and Ansible Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to system configuration and deployment Maintain and enhance monitoring and alerting platforms (Grafana, Zabbix) Integrate systems using APIs (REST, JSON, YAML) Support virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V Troubleshoot complex system, performance, and automation issues in production environments Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects and platform improvements Maintain source control using Git and contribute to CI/CD pipelines where applicable Document systems, processes, and automation workflows Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong experience with Linux and Windows Server administration Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell required; Python or Ansible preferred) Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V) Experience supporting production infrastructure environments Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWX, Kubernetes, or Docker Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) Experience with advanced monitoring platforms (VictoriaMetrics, Telegraf) Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Why Join Intermedia Work on automation-first, enterprise-scale infrastructure Build platforms that directly improve reliability and operational efficiency Collaborate with highly skilled, international engineering teams Grow your career in a company that promotes from within Be part of a culture built on trust, ownership, and continuous improvement Diversity, Inclusion & Equal Opportunity Intermedia is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
