Job Summary
The Corporate and Product Communications Manager helps shape integrated corporate and product communications strategies and leads the implementation of communications plans in support of CSS’s business priorities. The Manager advances these strategies through the execution of strategic initiatives across assigned verticals; this role primarily focuses on corporate, customer, product and technology, executive, and targeted internal communications.
Working across functions, the Manager translates complex information into clear, audience-specific communications that builds industry awareness, promotes the organization’s reputation, strengthens engagement and product adoption across diverse customer segments, and enables organizational and operational change and growth. The Manager helps to strengthen the systems, processes, and measurement practices needed to make communications initiatives, the department and the organization more consistent, effective, and scalable within CSS and across the nation The Manager will eventually manage a small team and is responsible for supporting staff development through mentorship, coaching, and communications skill building within the department and across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Leads the day-to-day communications activities of assigned verticals, coordinating priorities, deliverables, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies to keep work moving effectively.
- Owns the planning and execution of communications strategies and plans across assigned verticals, translating organizational priorities into coordinated initiatives, messaging, content, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proactively identifies communications needs, opportunities, risks, and gaps and brings forward original ideas, recommendations, and practical solutions without waiting for direction.
- Helps provide strategic direction to and manages the day-to-day work of communications agencies, consultants, and other external partners, ensuring deliverables align with CSS priorities, standards, timelines, and objectives.
- Helps lead and execute external communications and reputational initiatives, anticipating emerging media, stakeholder, business, and industry trends and recommending creative, insight-driven approaches that strengthen CSS's reputation and positioning.
- Leads audience-specific communications for customers, partners, end users, and other stakeholders, supporting education, readiness, engagement, adoption, operational changes, and organizational initiatives.
- Leads communications for products, capabilities, launches, releases, enhancements, and migrations, translating complex technical information into clear customer value, impact, and action.
- Develops and maintains messaging, positioning, value propositions, use cases, and supporting materials, including announcements, customer notices, presentations, webinars, guides, FAQs, and other educational resources.
- Partners with the Director of Communications and PR and Communications Manager, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to develop executive messaging, presentations, talking points, thought leadership, and other high-priority communications aligned across audiences and channels.
- Uses customer, market, industry, and performance insights to strengthen messaging, channels, engagement strategies, and communications outcomes.
- Guides and mentors less-experienced colleagues and shares best practices that strengthen communications capability across the function.
- Owns and improves communications tools, processes, templates, standards, and content management.

- Expertise in corporate, customer, product, and executive communications, with exceptional written, verbal, editing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex healthcare, technology, product, and operational concepts into clear, audience-specific messaging, value propositions, and actionable communications.
- Strong relationship-management and advisory skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across executive, product, technology, operations, market, and customer teams.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead multiple complex communications initiatives through execution and measurement in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and short turnaround times.
- Highly proactive, self-directed, and solutions-oriented, with the initiative to identify what needs to be done, bring forward thoughtful ideas and recommendations, create structure amid ambiguity, and deliver high-quality work with limited direction.
- Strong operational and analytical skills, including experience improving communications systems and processes and using performance insights to guide continuous improvement.
Experience and/or Education Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive communications experience, including experience leading complex communications programs and cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in product and customer communications, including product launches, technology releases, migrations, adoption, or other significant product and operational changes.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and working in healthcare, health technology, SaaS, technology, or another complex or regulated industry is strongly preferred.
